postheadericon Messing-Up her Sleep

I thought she can already sleep from 8 pm until morning but she woke-up at 11:30 P.M. and until then she did not sleep anymore until this time. Time check: 3:01 A.M. and she is still up. I wanted to sleep but I just cannot, to the point that I don't want to just leave her alone just like that. I sleep next to her crib, by the way. Of course, I turned-off the lights. She cried, I tried to show a tough love. I pretended to sleep, turned my back on her (and even so she could see me and hoped she imitated but lo and behold, it did not happen. To my surprise, my husband awoke and comfort her daughter, and left one light open (aside from some light outside which got out from our window blinds).

And that was where the story begin. The story why she is still up until now. I still have find ways and means or try to understand why she has not back to sleep yet. Ooh life of a first time mom and no other reliever as a helping hand (literally). My DH has to work so that's understandable that he cannot help me that much, or that needed ones. Ooh well.

For now, I give her a break. I let her watch a Einstein lullaby songs in the iPad (No, she has not have it on her hand but some three meters away, it's like a small TV) so it would somehow calm her mind and sleep right after this. Wish me luck then. Thanks for the good luck. *wink*

postheadericon Prevent Stretch Marks

Although, I have stretch marks out from having my baby during pregnancy, but the brighter side is, you can prevent unsightly stretch marks while pregnant. Try to keep your weight stable (as to pregnancy weight, not our pre-pregnancy weight) since stretch marks appear when the skin can’t adjust to the weight gain. Keep your skin moist and supple. Break or open a vitamin E and a vitamin A capsule and mix both with a teaspoon of vegetable shortening. Massage it all over the tummy area at night. Try to make it a nightly ritual. Take vitamin K as a supplement, or if your doctor doesn’t feel comfortable with supplements, add it to your moisturizer. Use it in the morning, or alternate it with the above treatment. There are new treatments which are available over the counter that flattens out the ridges of stretch marks. So if a few stretch marks have popped up, give it a try. After delivery, don’t be too hard on yourself in getting your body back. Your body won’t look like it did before pregnancy. Even when delivery is free complication, it takes at least six months for the body to recover.

postheadericon Life as to Optimism

Life is filled with many complicated pathways that one must follow. The decisions individuals make when faced with complex choices can ultimately lead to serious consequences depending on the choices that are made. These pathways have no age limits. However, decisions made by teenagers can follow them for the rest of their lives and choices made by adults can affect even the smallest children. There are many individuals working in the world today to help individuals of all ages find their way in life that will allow them to experience positive outcomes.

For example, Ed Young, a founder and senior pastor of Fellowship Church has found a tactful way of simplifying some of life’s most complex situations so people of all ages can understand what they are being faced with and where their choices can lead them. Ed Young and other Christian based individuals have found ways to reach out to people throughout the United States without having to leave their own communities. With the use of modern day technology these individuals are using the internet to broadcast their messages via social media sites such as FaceBook and YouTube.

Individuals such as Ed Young have the knowledge and ability to put into words what may otherwise be hard for some people to comprehend. While not everyone has a way of positively conveying their messages out loud, Ed Young and other inspirational people are able to write books, create online blogs, and conduct seminars to get the important messages out there that can give others the right direction that they may not otherwise understand is available to them. Their supportive mannerisms are encouraging for those that feel they may be alone in life or that fear retribution for doing what they feel is the right path for them to take.

Many parents have turned to the messages that are offered by Ed Young and other inspirational individuals in the world to help with the challenging situations they can find themselves in with their children. Having resources available on YouTube and other online sites puts a face behind messages that may otherwise be viewed as empty words. Parents can use these videos to help teach children and teenagers the importance of doing what is right in life. Messages pertaining to respecting parents and others, avoiding peer pressures, and leading a Godly lifestyle are all available through videos that have been made.

Ed Young and other online motivational experts do not work with just parents. These individuals are a powerful source when trying to reach those that feel isolated in life. Whether the individual is facing tough situations such as financial problems, marital issues, addiction, or feelings of failure they can tune into the online videos or find books that are filled with inspirational messages that target their specific situations in life. Having a way to find positive focus when problems can create a blurred outlook is the first step that people must take to find a solution for leading a happier and more enjoyable life.

Many of the resources that are available by Ed Young and other inspiration individuals are offered online, in local bookstores, and through specialty media retail centers around the country. You will find contact information in many of these individuals’ products that give you the ability to reach them for a more in depth learning experience.

postheadericon She Learns to Climb the Crib

My little tot is always on the go now. She likes the outdoor but it's cold season now so we can't be outside most of the time, unless if there's a sun. Kids can be tired of staying at home all day so I have to make sure she explore every corner of our house or give something that makes her busy.. If I have something to do in the kitchen, and she is not taking her nap, I usually put her in the crib with her favorite toys or most of the time, her iPad. But lately, I do not trust her alone in the crib. She learned how to climb on it. She find her way on how to be out of the crib. Okay, not that so because her crib is high. Only if the crib rail is un-up, which of course I have to make is up unless sometimes if she's asleep. If she's bored and want to go out on her crib, she yelled, or bites the crib.

Fortunately, her crib is non-lead paint and a crib rail with bars are not enough for her body and head to get out. It also has a firm and flat mattress that fits snugly into the corners. And besides, I put pillows as bumpers, but later I removed it for she begins to pull herself up by holding the crib rails. Whew! What a smart kid. :-)

postheadericon For Kids Music and Arts, Donate

Many school districts across the country are struggling on its journey to afford the basic needs for their students when it comes to education. Low budgets mean old textbooks, no extra supplies and programs that are cut to save some money. Often, the programs in schools that are cut include music and art. These programs are important to children, especially those who are living in an under served community. With a variety of nonprofit programs, art and music can be restored to these communities in a number of different ways.

Music and art are important to everyone, not just to kids. There are also programs that are offered to underprivileged communities that let everyone get involved. Many of these organizations plan public performances that are free of charge, public art installations and other fun projects. These projects are mainly supported by donations from other who support the cause both financial and in spirit.

Many community outreach programs that focus on music and the arts will also take their programs to places such as hospitals. Art and music can be wonderful therapy for a variety of conditions, and has been shown to relieve stress and anxiety as well as reducing heart rate and blood pressure, which can be very important for some patients. Whether it is through a private bedside performance or through a public performance within the hospital, nonprofits that focus on this community need will try to get into hospitals just as often as they bring their talents to schools. That way, every generation represented in the community can benefit from the organization's work, whether they are young, old or in between.

Supporting the arts in any way can help bring a little bit of something to a neighborhood that might not have been present before, such as art programs, dancing lessons or vocal performances. If you are interested in learning more about bringing the arts to those who deserve it or are wanting to help out, you can visit a nonprofit site or so. Every dollar helps to bring professional artists to where they are needed most.

postheadericon Kiddie Songs

I love kiddie songs even before I got a child of my own. There are many songs recorded and on sale but the following seems to be some of the common ones. Number one that I love is the "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" song. I think it is the most common kiddie songs that even kids before they turns two, he or she can already sing or demonstrate such song. Number two song that comes to mind is that "If You're Happy and You Know It". I think it is one of the charming songs that little kids can easily memorize. Do you agree?

Together with the first two is the Alphabet song. They can easily follow moms singing to them the alphabet song. Oh I can just imagine cutie kiddos singing these first three songs so nicely and so expressively. There are more to these songs including "The Wheels on The Bus", "My Toes, My Knees" and the likes.

So which one is the favorite song that your kiddo love?

postheadericon Giving Gift Ideas

Mommy(ies), isn't it easy to give others the gifts that they really want this holiday season, without the normal hustle and frustration of hectic shopping malls? Many recipients may be hoping for some of the newest and most popular fragrances, colognes, and scents, but many shoppers may find limited availability locally, as well as surprising prices that exceed allotted budgets. There are some alternatives to contending with this disappointment, which includes online shopping and perusing internet fragrance sites offering the same quality products.

Many consumers have quelled this urge to buy top name items from sites and have been able to save both the fatigue of hitting the local malls and money as well when making purchases from internet vendors. The selections offered are unsurpassed and the available discounts often include free shipping and expedited handling- so buyers will not have to worry about getting their products in time for gift-giving occasions.

Perhaps the biggest struggle for many shoppers this season will be the immense popularity of the latest and greatest celebrity-inspired fragrances or gift sets. Some of the most-recently released scents will be next-to impossible to find locally, and droves of shoppers will be seeking these coveted gift items among crowds of competitive, potentially aggressive, buyers. When ordering these online, be sure to make choices early and be prepared to add expedited shipping options in to the allocated budget for the most prompt delivery and most likelihood of availability in time for Christmas.

Another intriguing facet of sites such as those for dedicated fragrance sellers is the availability of unique, often-discontinued products for current shoppers. Everyone has someone in their life that is loyal to a particular scent, and this may be problematic when brands change their formulas and offerings or when some products are discontinued. It may be disheartening to disappoint these individuals with alternative items that they don't entirely embrace. Often online vendors have stock or supplies of these products which may serve to inspire many delighted consumers to stock-up for fear of it disappearing again. Additionally, the pricing may be discounted due to liquidation or clearance promotions which further saves buyers money on the perfect gift item.

postheadericon Working Mom

I know of many moms who are very workaholic. Workaholic in the sense that they have more than three jobs and they are also the one bringing and picking up the kids I school. Full time mom!? Oh how did they do it? I bet they are wonder woman or I can say that they are also a superwoman, in addition to the former.

A person works away from the home and she hired someone to take care of her two toddler kids. She said that she wish to be at home, but to meet all the responsibilities in their life as family, she has to help her hubby earn so that they can continue living their comfortable life. Thanks to her hired nanny, she can work away from home with confidence. Her nanny is very responsible and took care of the kids like they were here own children. So she never got a headache thinking of her kids (while she's at work) being mistreated. She is just so lucky. I bet that is the nice thing of having a very prayerful nanny.

How I wish I wish I am that mom.

postheadericon The Key to a Successful Play Date

As a wonderful way for your child to make friends, cement current friendships and build their confidence as an individual, play dates are an essential part of day-to-day life. When they’re not at pre-school, nursery or big school, giving them the opportunity to catch up with their little mates either at home, or elsewhere, will help them to realise that friendships can go beyond the school playground.

If you have friends or family members with similar aged kids, or you’ve been part of a baby group or Netmums meetup, chances are you’ve already had plenty of opportunity to organize and attend play dates with people in a similar position. Whether a play date is a success or not depends largely on what your plans are – meeting up at a park or soft play centre, or meeting up at home, combined with plenty of other aspects, can help to mould the play date into a winner!

Setting a play date up in the first place can be a little difficult – you have to try and find a time that suits the people you’re asking, as well as yourself and, with busy lives, this can be easier said than done! Try and plan one in advance so that everyone can add it to their diaries and ensure not to double book themselves.

If you’re having the play date at your house, make sure that you set up various toys that will encourage social skills and interaction. Put away any toys that promote solo play so that your child will have every reason to mingle with their friends. Perhaps set up a little diorama with their stash of Imaginext and provide them with plenty of figures that will encourage them to share and play nicely. Boys will love to show off their medieval castle, knights and dragons to their new-found friends!

One of the main things that will make a play date run sour is the kids’ ability to share. After all, they’re still learning and, at a young age, they don’t understand the concept of sharing their toys as much as you’d like. Try and avoid this by providing them with options. Perhaps your little girl is fighting her little friend over the pushchair and baby – provide them with another, attractive option such as a spare pushchair, shopping trolley or baby swing. You get the picture!

Once they’re over the sharing issues, everything will be rosy. Kids are all about the fun and, with play dates, they have every reason to enjoy themselves!

postheadericon Fathers Are Special

It is a common thought that fathers are special because they are the pillar of a family. A pillar! And that brings me to thinking that fathers really got a big role in a family unit. Lucky are those kids who have complete set of parents. They have a father and they also have a mother. For sure, you know that I am not talking about biological explanation. I cannot say, though, that those who have one set of parent only are unlucky ones. A single parent who plays both roles in rearing up children is really a tough job. I think it’s not gonna be a perfect parenting, but if it is really a situation where there is peace in the family, then single parenting can be a choice for the sake of a child/children. I love to see girls spending quality time with their dad. They don’t mean that they love their mothers less but I just knew that little girls share extra special bond with their father. A father who share wonderful father-daughter bond is an awesome dad.

What do you think?

postheadericon The Diamond Buying Guide

The perfect engagement requires the perfect engagement ring. If you are about to pop the big question, you are likely a bit nervous about finding that perfect fit for your loved one. Shopping for engagements rings can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. It should be fun! The following are some simple tips that will make your search as fruitful as possible.
Only Do Business with Reputable Sellers

Jewelry fraud is more common than you might think. Crooks have access to more realistic looking fake jewelry than ever, some of which are even difficult for experts to detect. Fake diamonds are among the most common fake gemstones, though they are often easily spotted. The majority of fake jewelry sales are perpetuated by individual scam artists that present themselves as experts or wholesalers. Jewelry businesses that sell poor quality, overpriced, or outright fake products typically don’t last long. Reputable jewelry businesses tend to stick around for a long time—choose a seller that is established and carries a good reputation. When in doubt, you can always hop online and do a little research.

Learn the Basics

For all their brilliance and value, diamonds are actually quite simple. Finding the best value for your buck only requires you to know the basics of how the diamond is graded and priced, known as “The Four C’s:”
  • Color. Diamonds come in a variety of colors, ranging from a blinding gray to pinks, yellows, and reds to the stunning colorless “white” diamond. The color of a diamond has a significant effect on its value, with certain colors such as pink and red carrying higher prices. A colorless or near colorless diamond is typically the most valuable white diamond, as they tend to produce the brightest shimmer and overall beauty. The value and price of a colored diamond may fluctuate according to current trends and popularity.
  • Carat. The weight of a diamond is measured in units of carats, which are named after the carob seed that was once used to weigh gemstones by traders. A diamond carat is exactly 0.2 grams, and has no correspondence to the carat measure used to weigh gold. For the most part a diamond’s value will rise according to the numbers of carats, though the other three C’s also factor in heavily. Size is not necessarily an indication of quality; certain heavier gemstones may be of poorer overall quality.
  • Cut. The cut of a diamond refers to its shape; freshly mined diamonds are rock like and irregular until processed and cut by a jeweler. There are a wide variety of diamond cut styles, all of which are graded according to how light strikes the faces or “facets” of the diamond. While the grade of a cut has a significant effect on evaluation, larger stones with fairer cut grades will often cost more than smaller stones with more quality cuts.

postheadericon No Two Individuals Are Alike

Do you ever wish that your child be a perfect child just like you? I mean in the behavioral aspect? Some (or maybe most) parents are like that, which is not a bad thing. They encourage the kids to be like the things they used to like when they were kids. They teach kids ways or hobbies that they used to when they were still young. And if the child can show a behavior that is not like them, they scold the child. Parents like this forgot that the child is a combination of two genes – the mom and the dad. The mom did not realized that her kid is just half of her. So the kid can never be a replica of what she is. Maybe in looks, they can be so much alike but in ways, they can never be. Even twins, they can never be alike in all things but of course they love each other so much.

I love parents who love their kids in spite of their differences especially when kids make goals in life. I admire parents who encourage their kids to pursue whatever their kids wish to be when they grow up. I can just imagine what some adults feel when they are living a life that is a choice of their parents which they can't take. Of course, I wish everyone the best!

postheadericon Enter to Win Zupers Kickstarter Giveaway!

I am one mommy that loves my child to explore things and around. When I had my baby shower, one friend of mine gave a gift of leggings and I could not get any happier. Sure enough, my daughter uses it often. But now that she's grown up, she also need to have grown-up leggings. And I think most mommies love leggings for their child especially that cold days is already here. Yes, even in the Eastern part of United States of A it already is snowing! Happy cold days, then? Enjoy and smile! Love, love, love.

postheadericon Back Into Shape After Childbirth

Getting your body back into shape is important. But remember, it usually takes a few months to lose that extra weight mommy(ies). Allow time for your body to recover, especially if you have stitches. For the first two weeks exercise should be light, increasing gradually to moderate activity to help your recovery. Daily exercise, even a ten-minute walk, will help tone your body and increase your strength and energy. Getting outdoors with your baby in her carriage will also clear your head, decrease stress and help you sleep better.

Begin with gentle pelvic exercise as soon as possible, then move on to moderate exercise of the abdominal muscles when you’re feeling up to it. Wait at least six weeks before doing any strenuous aerobic activity. As your body feels stronger, increase your exercise to low impact aerobics, such as walking, swimming or cycling. But make sure that you are eating well-balanced, nutritious foods to maintain your energy.

postheadericon A Quick Guide to Buying a New Fridge-Freezer

Mommy(ies), our fridge-freezer is past its best and may not be cooling as well as it should. Suddenly you're faced with a dilemma – what sort of fridge freezer model should you go for? Here's some information to take the research out of the equation. There are three kinds of fridge-freezers that can work their cooling and freezing magic in different ways.
 Main types of fridge-freezer

Free-standing fridge-freezers such as the Beko fridge freezer are generally the cheapest and most common refrigerator model. They easily able to be fitted into most kitchens and come in a range of different colours and sizes.

Integrated fridge-freezers sit behind cupboard doors and blend in well with the surrounding décor of the kitchen. They're generally priced higher than free-standing fridge-freezers because of the customization involved.

Side-by-side fridge-freezers are also known as American-style models. They are quite large and often come with a range of high-tech features like a chilled water or ice dispenser and even in some cases a TV.

So what suits your lifestyle?

The key to selecting the best fridge-freezer is by looking at your lifestyle and the number of mouths to be fed in your home. Families with tremendously busy lives, who often pull out frozen dinners from the deep freeze, will rally around a giant side-by-side model as though it were an old friend!

Alternately, a bunch of people living in a small flat in the city, will be conscious of the lack of space. The American-style fridge-freezer will dominate the kitchen like an elephant in the room. If you do have spatial concerns, a compact free-standing model is probably the way to go.

Some free-standing models can offer a surprising amount of storage space tucked neatly into a compact size. Free-standing models are generally cheaper to buy and run on less power than the bigger, American-style fridge-freezers so for those on a smaller, budget, this kind of product may be best.

Good luck on the quest to find the perfect fridge. Once you’ve pinned down your family’s needs, you shouldn’t find it too difficult to get a fridge-freezer that will keep your household and your purse happy.

postheadericon Dad’s Role

Fathers today are taking a hands-on, active role in parenting. It is important to remember that a strong foundation for a family is the partnership between the mother and the father. And this relationship needs careful maintenance now. I am just so lucky that my husband is very supportive (and I also know how to balance everything, though), and he understands that I am a first time mom, and that we are still adjusting to my responsibility with our daughter.

I guess all parents go through major changes once a newborn baby arrives, except for well-off families. This period includes the joy of getting to know your child, as well as the demands of feedings and night walking. It leaves less time and energy for your relationship with your partner. The mother’s focus is on the baby, especially if she is breastfeeding. It’s normal to have mixed emotions about the new responsibilities as a father. As the father adjust and gain confidence, nothing will come close to the joy and love he begin to feel for the newest member of his team.

postheadericon Motherhood and Exercise

I have been a mother for some years now and I wish that the passion I exert in my motherhood tasks is the same as my goal to maintain my pre-pregnancy size. But it is not happening to me. I have many friends who have no problem in this area, but me there is! And I am not proud of it, yet I am writing about it.

I wish for the day when I can stop thinking all the problems and trials my way so that I would be inspired to hit the road in the morning and evening, to sweat off the saved fats in my body.

One thing that got me curious is yoga. I found this interesting paragraph in Wiki: Long-term yoga practitioners in the United States have reported musculoskeletal and mental health improvements, as well as reduced symptoms of asthma in asthmatics. Regular yoga practice increases brain GABA levels and has been shown to improve mood and anxiety more than some other metabolically matched exercises, such as walking. The three main focuses of Hatha yoga (exercise, breathing, and meditation) make it beneficial to those suffering from heart disease. Overall, studies of the effects of yoga on heart disease suggest that yoga may reduce high blood pressure, improve symptoms of heart failure, enhance cardiac rehabilitation, and lower cardiovascular risk factors. For chronic low back pain, specialist Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs has been found 30% more beneficial than usual care alone in a UK clinical trial. Other smaller studies support this finding. The Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs programme is the dominant treatment for society (both cheaper and more effective than usual care alone) due to 8.5 fewer days off work each year. A research group from Boston University School of Medicine also tested yoga’s effects on lower back pain. Over twelve weeks, one group of volunteers practiced yoga while the control group continued with standard treatment for back pain. The reported pain for yoga participants decreased by one third, while the standard treatment group had only a five percent drop. Yoga participants also had a drop of 80% in pain medication use.
This sounds promising. Maybe when I have time and a buddy, I will try to explore this kind of exercise.

postheadericon Questions to Ask Yourself About Shopping for Utilities

You don't always have to take what you're given in life. Case in point: your utility company probably isn't the only service provider you can buy electricity from. With that said, it's not as easy as calling up a competitor and making the switch. Just because there's competition, doesn't mean it's a better deal. You need to know which questions to ask and what actually represents a good value.

 Why Shop At All?

Just because your current supplier provides you with reliable energy doesn't mean that you are getting the best possible price. Energy companies are only motivated to provide competitive pricing when there's a threat that you'll leave. Otherwise, they are incentivized to charge you the highest possible price they think you'll pay.

You may not like this, but the flip side is that you're incentivized to pay the lowest possible price - this is why shopping around is important. If enough people leave an energy supplier, that supplier will be forced to lower its prices or go out of business.

Electricity rates from many companies depend on government regulations in that area, whether they supply "green energy," and what the usage is among its customers. That's why it's important to get as many quotes as you can. In some cases, you'll be limited as to how many options you have. That's fine. Just get the quotes and compare.

Can I Do Budgeted Billing?

Ask your new energy supplier if you can do budgeted electric billing. Budgeted billing isn't a new concept and most companies offer it. If you're not familiar with budgeted billing, it's a pricing model that allows you to pay the same price every month - regardless of your actual energy usage. The idea is that you'll overpay in the off-peak season and underpay in the peak season. At the end of the year, you'll have paid the correct amount of money for the energy you've used.

It's a better way to anticipate electric charges year-round compared to variable billing where your charges might fluctuate significantly - especially during the dead of winter or the peak of summer. What Will Change If I Switch?

There are essentially three parts to your electric service. First, there's the power generation. Generation is the actual production of electricity. Next, there's the transmission. This is the movement of the electricity from a facility that produces it to a local distributor. Finally, there's the distribution. This is the actual deliver of power to your home.

When you switch electric suppliers, you're switching companies that produce the electricity for you, but you're not switching the transmission or local distribution.

 Will I Get Two Bills?

Many utilities will just send you one consolidated bill. It makes it easier for everyone involved. However, some suppliers want to send you a separate bill. In these cases, you'll receive a bill from the supplier and another one from your local utility.

Who Should You Contact?

If you have billing questions, you'll refer those to your supplier. For outages, you'll have to contact your local distributor/utility company.

Jason Persinger spent time as an electrician's apprentice before switching careers as a freelance writer and journalist. He enjoys long walks, shopping with his daughters, and spending quiet time at home with wife, Amanda.

postheadericon Mother As a Best Friend

Here’s one of the mother’s day quote that I love. It is by Ryan Crowe. It says: “Your mother is possibly the best friend you will ever have. She loves you when you love her back. She loves you when don’t. She loves you when you cry and when you laugh. She loves you when you are wrong and when you are right. She loves you because you are her child, forever and a day. If you want to catch a glimpse of what the love of God looks like, look at your mother.”

I really agree with the author. A mother’s love is so marvelous that no matter what we do, our mothers continually love us. They are suppose to be our best friend at all times but what usually happens is that some moms have never realized that it is so great to belong to a daughter-mom world.

Mothers are first teachers. And yes, a best friend --- that's what bond I like for my daughter, her best of friends. :-)

postheadericon Job and Education

As a mom, we have all the opportunity just like anybody else. We just need to manage our time. If that being well-manage and you're good to go for a work, then knowledge for that work is a must. But wait, what work are you interested of? Are you looking for a high-paying job, in-demand or of what your current education can fit? Which is which?

postheadericon Shopping for Girls

As a mom I confess that it is so easy to shop clothes or anything for girls especially little girls. It’s a no sweat task for me. The picking and choosing is no problem, it’s just the time at times is not very favorable. There seem to be so many choices for girls. From their clothes to their hair clips, to their headbands, then down to their socks, shoes, sandals and even more. You just need to have lots of money to buy more than what’s needed for the princess of the house.

While we shop for our daughter /s, and even our hubby, there is one thing we totally forgot. Can you guess what is it? It’s that we forget to shop for ourselves. Right? We are so preoccupied of the things that will make our darling girls look so pretty, and we forgot that we too moms have to maintain our prettiness.

So next time you got out to grab things for your little girls, grab some for you, too!

postheadericon Baby Gift Ideas

Baby gifts are the perfect way to welcome a new family addition. If you want to make your gift special, for me personalized baby gifts are the best. There are some terrific products on the market that are also unusual and will be happily received by the new parents. By customizing birth announcements, baby books, journals, place-mats and other selections, you make your gift unique as well as helpful. Specialized birth announcements with the newcomer's name, date of birth, weight, length and first photo with cute added illustrations will be welcomed as the new parents are anxious to inform family loved ones and friends of the happy event. An adorably illustrated baby book or journal detailing the important milestones and pictures from the baby's first year will become a treasured keepsake and will keep those precious memories all in one place to be looked at and enjoyed for the rest of the baby's life journey. There are also sections for footprints, hand prints, weight and height from birth to one year old, first foods and much more. Laminated and durable place-mats that are easy to clean can be personalized with the baby's name and illustrated with Mother Goose characters, dinosaurs for a little boy, or with princess artwork at a royal tea for a little girl.

My Sam is very much interested of everything I do. Very curious just like any most toddlers of her age. Sure enough, she already know how to maneuver her iPad at her own pace, at her 22 months age now. She knows what phonics and educational learning app to watch. She likes to do it herself. Sarah knows how to increase and decrease volume and turn from one app to another, then tap the play button. She can even unlock the iPad. She likes imitating that Camping Peekaboo girl shouting, "Weeeeh". And every time my Sam knows a song played, she smiles and look at me, on the other hand if it's her first time encounter, she listen attentively.  She amazes me. :-) She does best in handling her iPad. She can be on it like an hour or so (of course, I won't have her the iPad all day) and even carry from our living room to bedroom, good thing we have carpet and it has a protective case and screen (in cases of accidental fell and alike). And the very best thing is she's learning. Hubby and babylove even does their bonding by playing educational game like puzzle. It's a sweet thing. It's worth it.

postheadericon Other Tips for Your Toddlers

Toddlers are fascinated with books especially those that have vivid and colorful visual prints and images. Engage her to browse at these books while you go on to read to her the adventures of little duckling or the classic Pinocchio. Remember, even though your toddler is too young to completely comprehend an entire story, this is a stepping stone in stimulating his imagination. Attentive toddlers would have lots of “why’s” while you are reading books to her. If you get tired of the constant why’s, don’t simply fall back on “That’s just the way it is” or “Because I said so.” Instead, try to deflect them by asking her what she thinks. Her answer may amuse you, but mommy, try not to laugh at him/her. His/Her mind is really working in amazing ways as your toddler puts together what information she has about the world with a toddler’s fertile imagination. If you truly don’t know the answer, tell her the two of you can journey of finding it out together.

Great idea to ponder on, huh!

postheadericon Latest Updates on Technology and Space

Behind those chores and responsibilities we are juggling everyday, we mommies, also like to have "mommy-me-time" , to have time for ourselves, usually the quiet time, that is. Some may read news online and digging up the how's of this and that such particular was made and the reaction towards human being. We may find it interesting if we are fond of sciences, reading the news and current events regarding it.  The studying of the physical world. Isn't it interesting? How we interact towards it? How it affects us? Its advantages, and so on and so forth.

If you are that person who likes journeying into what is happening of our world with regards to science and technology in our free time, and reading about space and technology is something you could appreciate and enjoy, I think you will like to read it in SciTechDaily.com (this website is popular in the World Wide Web) as they provide latest information and updates on technology news.  For me, that is so amazing.  The information about sciences and technology on the site could also be used as reference for a student. And you can also ask by hitting the "Contact" button just at the top right column of the website. You may ask about anything related (of course) or some resources, or whatever questions you have in mind, You may also could bookmark the page for easy access, or follow them on Twitter, and like them on Facebook too so you'll get updates on anywhere you are, or on your favorite social network.

postheadericon Childbirth Spacing

The decision to have a child is a basic human right of  a mommy and a daddy, but it also comes with risks and responsibilities. Responsible parenthood is encouraged as it brings more benefits to all the members of the family and society in general. The benefit from responsible parenthood includes allowing more time for you, as wife and mother, can provide love and attention to your husband and children. Also, this would an opportune time for you to finish a course or even pursue higher education so that you can work and practice your profession to help augment the family income. More importantly, this would provide enough time to regain your health as it usually takes two to three years to fully recover following a delivery. During this time, you can regain your strength and be treated for previous and concurrent illness or diseases. Because you are healthy, you can make sure your babies are healthy, too. So, childbirth spacing is essential.

postheadericon Tips and Techniques for New Moms

New Mom, don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it, from friends, family, support groups or a professional. It will be better for you and your child. If you need a break, take some time out with your partner or a friend. Get some exercise. Even 10 minutes a day will help. Let yourself fall in love with your baby, of course. Every baby needs someone who is madly in love with her. If you can, sleep or rest when your baby does. Keep away from Facebook. It will just waste your time. Prioritize household tasks. Let some of the low priority ones go for a while and, when possible, delegate some to others. Go with the flow in the journey of being a mommy. It's hard but don't let it control your head. Forget schedules and efficiency. Your baby is generally not predictable and you can’t work on the rest of the world’s timetable when you have got a new born. Enjoy your baby today, don’t wish these early months away. Give yourself time to adjust. Nobody knows how to do everything for her baby overnight.

Remember the newborn phase is short. Don’t draw conclusions based on this brief period. Eventually, you would get a full night’s sleep again.

Sundresses have been popular among women/mommies for years, and for good reason. First of all, a sundress is an ideal fashion choice for the summer. Sundresses are lightweight and loose-fitting to wear even in the warmest weather. They keep people cool without being too revealing, and they can even be worn over a bathing suit or bikini on the beach. The fact that so many of them are brightly colored makes them a fun and cute option for those who like to go shopping on a sunny summer afternoon. Another reason why sundresses are so popular is because they are very flattering for women of practically any size and body type. They are light enough to show off a woman's figure in a way that is tasteful and flattering. This is probably why plus-sized sundresses are available from many retailers and clothing designers all over the world. Finally, a sundress is incredibly versatile. Many sundresses can be worn in every women's journey casually at the beach, at the mall or simply around the house, while others wouldn't be out of place at an elegant restaurant. They can also be worn with several different kinds of shoes, from ballet flats to high heels. This means that a sundress can easily be made to be part of practically any ensemble with some creativity. There is a great selection of sundresses for women at fairwindssarongs.com. These dresses come in all sizes, styles and colors so you will be sure to find a dress that perfectly fits your style.

postheadericon How Can You Get Your Child To Be More Sociable?

Some children may be more naturally outgoing than others. I have learned that shyness or inhibition is influenced by genetic and environmental influences. However, mommies/parents/caregivers, I believed that this temperament is not necessarily permanent and does not necessarily determine a child’s personality when she grows up. In fact, these traits can be influenced by time and life experiences. Our daughter is fun to be with. At first, she is a bit shy, but when she feels that you are a good friend to her, she will like you, and she will play with you just like most children.

There are many ways to help a child to overcome shyness. But first, you have to look into why your daughter is too shy for her age. Go back to your earliest recollection of your childhood journey. Were you or your husband shy when you were your daughter’s age? Are either of you shy even up to now? Remember that you are your child’s social model. Your responses and interaction with other people is your child’s first social template. So, do better for her what you have not accomplished or done when you were still young. Imagine how you like her to be, start from there, and do great with her own pace. Good luck mommy! :)

postheadericon Easy To Win Auction Site

I assumed that most mommy shoppers understand online auction dealings because it is widely known over the Internet. When you heard the word auction, the next thing comes to mind is bidding. However, there is one auction site that you might definitely adore because of their unique mechanism. I have watched this video a while ago, and I was inspired to join this distinctive auction site. You may have to check it out below, and watch the video and see it for yourself. At DealDash , if you lose the bidding, it doesn't mean that you lose everything. You can still get back all your bids and use it to buy the item by using the Buy It Now option. It sounds great, isn't it?

And so good luck on your auction journey then! :)

postheadericon Mother : A Closest Ally

A friend of mine came across this quote and she giggled. “A daughter is a mother's gender partner, her closest ally in the family confederacy, an extension of her self.” I asked her why, and she said, " I believe that I am really my mom’s gender partner because I literally grow up very close to my mom and we almost do things together".

I think mothers and daughters share a very close bond if compared to other members of the family. I do not mean though that sons and moms are not that close, they even said that most have that latter bond which is son and mom that so close. They are but nothing beats a mom and daughter closeness, I think.

I love my daughter very much and somehow when she also grows up to be and adult and decide one day to start her own family, she will be able to share a bond with her kids closely like what we do now. I love my daughter to death. She is the sunshine of my life.

postheadericon My Awesome Little Helper

My toddler daughter SAM, just turned 21 months old can already do a lot. She can't speak that much yet and I even think she's a little delayed because of her oral aversion., but nonetheless because she can already utter few words and keeps on imitating me when talking to her (not every time but when she's relax, she's always on the go, as in curious in everything her hand can reach). I just have to keep closely on her speech development and eating status. And teach her more.

It has been months (maybe two or three months ago or so), she started keeping an eye on my feet that every time my feet are naked, she has to find my slippers or shoes and put it back on. It has been her habit, I think, and it amazes me. She's very busy toddler but never forgot to take a look at my feet if it has slippers/shoes on. Ha! She can also open our door bathroom as well as close the doors every time it is open. Looks like she's a door guard, I always tease that to her. :) She can do much more like putting trash in a trashcan, and the likes.

She can also relay a thing on her hand from our living room and just give instruction to give it to her dad in the bedroom --- she always does it perfect. She's a perfect little helper! ;-)

My SAM now understands more and I feel happy with that!

postheadericon Teaching Your Child to Talk

Here are some ways to boost your child’s vocabulary: A mommy or a parent must talk as much and as often as you can directly to your toddler, whether it is carrying on an actual conversation, singing a song or reading to her. Look at her while you talk. Let her see your face and your gestures.

Repetition is the key. If you read her a story, don’t get tired of reading it again and again. Repeat concepts taught as much as you can. Children’s songs are a great way to teach concepts by repetition. Example: My toes, my knees, my shoulder, my head.

Talk to her as you are talking to a grown-up. Kids in a learning journey say the cutest things, such as “wee-wee” for pee, “tenchu” for thank you, “pleet” for please, but don’t let these tempt you into mimicking them during conversations. Hearing you use baby talk may just confuse your toddler and won’t help her language development.

The Toyota Camry has turned into a somewhat legendary type of car, and it is always amazing to see Toyota fit such an amazing design in such a small price tag. They have really outdone themselves this year, and the design of the Camry has never been so polished than it is right now. The high quality materials found in this car make you wonder how it is able to be sold for such a low price, and the performance of this car makes you forget about the vehicles that can be found at a higher price level. One of the main things that people (especially a working mommy/mommies in driving journey) are pointing out about this car is its ability to stay quiet on the road. When people test drive it at the Toyota Camry dealerships, they are extremely surprised at how they do not have to talk loudly just to be heard by someone who is sitting right next to them. The performance of this car is driven by a 156 horsepower engine, but the main feature of this car has always been its dependability. You can always count on a Toyota Camry to last far into the future, and you never have to worry about a lot of costly maintenance decisions. Whenever you want to find a car that simply works and gets the job done, you can always count on Toyota to come up with the perfect design packaged up in a great deal.

postheadericon Treat Her Well

It will be helpful for you to know your child’s temperament, or at least, to have an idea about it. By knowing this, you will gain valuable insight into your child and her behavior. If a child with a difficult temperament is challenging you, you probably wish to get at the root of the problem, mommy. Perhaps you found yourself viewing your child in a negative light by labeling her as cry-baby or a wild child.

I am lucky because my child has a little temperament, or perhaps I am quick to respond to her needs and wants before she explodes. Okay, she's still on her way to "terrible two" and let's see.

I believe that a child with a difficult temperamental is as normal as a child with an easy or slow to warm up temperament. I think, once the parents know and understand the child’s temperament, we can view our child’s behavior objectively. This will help us to refrain from emotionally lashing out or withdrawing from our child.

postheadericon Manners Matter

It is never too early to teach children good manners. Studies show that even at a very young age, kids are already capable of learning and expressing empathy and concern for others. Teaching manners becomes easier when it is a common practice in the household.

As social beings, children learn by doing. From birth onward, children are constantly picking up emotional and behavioral cues from the people around them, such as parents, siblings, caregivers and alike. However, it is not enough to simply tell children what to do and say; showing them by example counts most.

Where do you begin in teaching toddlers good manners? Start with the basics, saying “please” and “thank you”. If your little one wants a bottle of milk, teach her to ask for it in a proper way by stating, “May I have some milk please?” while you are pouring it. When you hand it to her, affirm and say “Thank you.” This is also works well if you and your child are visiting friends and relatives. When she asks for something, remind your child to say please and thank you.

postheadericon How to Find Safe Extra Money When Expecting

If you are expecting to give birth sometime soon, you want to have extra money in order to care for your child after he or she is born. Babies are expensive and you must be prepared to afford everything they will need. Here are four safe ways to obtain some extra money:

Payday Loans
Payday loans are short term loans that can safely get you cash in as little as 24 hours. There are many companies that offer payday loans and qualifying for one is pretty easy as long as you meet all the requirements, such as having a bank account and a steady job. In general, you have to have been at your job at least 90 days to qualify for a payday loan. Applying for one only takes a couple of minutes and you can apply online from the comfort of your own home. Upon approval, most companies will deposit the money into your bank account right away. Just make sure that when you get your next paycheck from your employer you are able to pay the loan back in full. This is the only truly safe way to obtain money from a payday loan.

Yard Sales
Most of us have at least some possessions we don’t want or need anymore. Having a yard sale and selling these possessions can be a safe way to get some extra cash for when your baby is born. You can either set up a yard sale in your neighborhood or get a table at a flea market. Flea market space must be purchased, so you will want to be fairly certain you will be able to make a profit on the possessions you sell. In the case of a typical yard sale, try to get others in your neighborhood to participate because this will draw more people in.

Offer Services From Home
Another great way to safely obtain some money when you are expecting a baby is to offer services that you can do from the comfort of your own home. If you are artistic, consider making artwork you can sell online or throughout your neighborhood. If you like to read and write, offer to write book reviews for new authors.

Dip Into Your Savings
Hopefully you have a savings account that you can take some money from if you find yourself needing extra money with no way to obtain it.

postheadericon How To Teach Your Toddler To Talk

We never fail to celebrate incomprehensible babblings uttered by our toddler, giving meaning to them as if they were real words. On the other hand, we mommies beat ourselves in frustration when every other child except your own has already begun talking. Indeed, one of the milestones that cause great excitement and anxiety in parents is their child’s speech development. Find out more about why children’s speech development is crucial and how a mommy/parents can help in such journey of your kid. We use speech to articulate feelings, thoughts and experience from something as primal as hunger to something as complex as anxiety or mixed emotions. For young children, speech is key in expressing preferences, dislikes and intentions. For older school-aged children, it is an indispensable ingredient of reading, spelling, mathematics and writing. Since speech is used in virtually all aspects of our lives, any breakdown, however small, impacts on the quality of our output at home, in school and in the community.

postheadericon Tips for Insurancing Your Children

Knowing that your child’s future is secure is one of the top priorities for many parents. Everyone wants their children to reach their highest potential by ensuring that they grow up healthy and strong. By getting health insurance a parent can rest assured that they made the best decision for their child. Unfortunately not every parent has that option as around 8 million kids in the U.S. go without health insurance. If your child is one of them because your employer-paid health insurance doesn’t cover them or you can’t afford a policy than don’t fret. There are plenty of programs that are available to anyone looking to provide medical coverage for their children. Here are some tips to help get you coverage for your kids.

Get Your Children into a Public Program

There are two programs in every state that work together to provide health insurance for children that are in middle and low income families. These are Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicaid. Medicaid is controlled by the state but is funded by both the state and federal government. It offers health insurance to those with a limited income. Children’s Health Insurance Program on the other hand is funded solely by the federal government and provides health insurance to kids under the age of 19 who are in working-class families and qualify for coverage based on the income of their parents.

Visit Your Local Health Center

Whether you and your child has health insurance coverage or not, you can take your child to a health center for immunizations, check-ups, treatment, prescription drugs, mental health care, and dental care without health insurance when you need it. This is because health centers offer medical care based on a sliding scale of your income. If you are in a dire situation it can even be free.

Get Your Kids Child-Only Health Insurance

A “child-only” health insurance plan is a type of policy that is designed specifically for children who are 18 and under, and do not put a guardian or parent under the same policy. Although the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act made this type of policy less available, they can still be purchased during certain enrollment periods. This can be a good option for parents who only want to have insurance for their children. Be aware that not all states offer this type of insurance so make sure to check with your insurance provider to see if they do.

Take Full Advantage of COBRA

If you have been laid-off and fear that this will mean your child will no longer be covered, know that it is required by the law that your former place of employment provides health insurance coverage for 18 months after you were laid-off. This can tide your family over until you can find a new job.

postheadericon Anything Instant

I was asking before are the instant soups sold in the supermarket okay for babies and toddlers just like "Don’t these contain MSG?" , and alike. Thanks to my baby’s doctor (yeah her pediatrician). She said cup soups are not exactly what nutritionists would recommend as food for babies and toddlers. MSG, or monosodium glutamate, is a flavor enhancer of many processed food items. Though MSG is considered generally safe and approved for use, it has shown side effects on some people, such as dizziness or allergic reactions.

It was long ago that some baby food manufacturers tried to lessen the food additives (not only MSG) in their products after some reports of brain damage or mental retardation that could been caused by food additives were discovered. So, to make it safe, offer your babies a variety of food and go natural by making fresh broth more often or in the other name, be Organic. By the way, if she doesn’t like soups, don’t force her to eat or even taste it.

postheadericon Protect Your Children Through Personal Investments

There are no parents who do not have their children in mind when it comes to thinking of protect them. From medical expenses to college expenses, parents would like to have everything covered throughout their development, but money is commonly a limiting factor. However, you can protect your children through personal investments that pay for what they are going to need at different age stages.

Approach Life Insurance

Despite there are many life insurance plans for children that you can find while shopping around, financial advisors recommend avoiding buying this type of coverage. Life insurance could be a good investment to protect your children not from the approach to insure them but insuring yourself. Your own life insurance policy can produce cash that can be used to invest with your children's education in mind or to pay for other expenses when the right life insurance policy has been taken out.

Getting Health Care Insurance.

Carrying health care insurance will be mandatory for all Americans starting in 2014 so that, this is the right moment to think of shopping around for the best health insurance policy that protects your children and the whole family. You can buy individual health care plans for your children, but experts recommend the analysis of the different deals to find the best and avoid paying extra coverage that might not be used. As an example, why you should pay today for pregnancy expenses for your toddler girl?

A Piggy Bank Alternative

Piggy banks are meant to teach your children the importance of saving money, but practicing what one preaches is the best way to help them understand the importance of saving money. This way, start building a savings fund at the same time -- your own piggy bank even if it set as a bank savings account -- and reserve this money exclusively to cover expenses pertaining your children development.

Using Financial Talents
If you have set aside a stash of money to protect your children, consider the opportunity to make it grow by investing in life insurance, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or real estate. Nonetheless, keep in mind that this is not a game of chance and also not an action that has to be performed without the proper knowledge of what you are doing. Investments always carry a risk factor that you should be able to cope with. So that that said, if you want to protect your children through personal investments this way, get a financial advisor to help you.

postheadericon How to Get Enough Sleep

Most of the time we mommy(ies) just cannot get enough sleep because we have work to be done urgently, let alone taking care of our toddlers/kids/babies, and sometimes for those working mommies who work for a certain company which they shift from day to night then for the another week or month will going to shift from night to day -- that such more difficult, I think.

So there is no consistency in the time you slept at night, because of that you cannot get enough sleep, even though you have done your work early but in most nights you slept  like 2:00 a.m. or 3:00 a.m. for an example, still even you want to rest early that night still you cant slept, what I did to make my eyes tired and slept early is to read books or listen to mellow music of my little one's favorite lullabies in Pandora (in this way, she and I can sleep together) especially when insomnia attack.

To have enough sleep is very important. This can help our body regain more strength in the next day of working at home or in the office. So make sure to have enough sleep, take vitamins or drink milk before sleeping time.

postheadericon Bad Investments That Your Children Learn From

With the new economic trends, there are many investors looking for different ways to make their money work for them. Infomercials and books advertising ways to invest in real estate and debt buying are enticing everyone, including us mommy(ies) of course, from young investors to those who are looking for a way to diversify their portfolio. These investments may work for some people but most of the time they become part of the list of investments your children will learn  from.

Ponzi Schemes. This type of investment usually comes with an outrageous guarantee that if you put in a certain amount of money you will certainly get back an amount much higher. The problem with these investments is the only person making money is the one selling you the investment. In reality the investment itself does not truly exist and you will lose thousands of dollars if not more. Most people did not know what a ponzi scheme was until the media began reporting on people being arrested for facilitating them.

Unsecured Loans. This investment can be risky no matter how you choose to do it. If you choose to take out a payday loan in order to fund your investments, you may find yourself unable to pay back the loan amount. Those who do not need to borrow money to make an investment may choose to invest in lending for payday loans. In this journey, you risk losing your money due to the borrower not repaying the loan.

Precious Metals. Investing in metals such as gold and silver may seem like a great idea at the time you are considering it. The problem with this investment is the risk of dropping prices which can happen at any time with little or no notice. Another important issue with investing in precious metals is that they are not a good source of continuous income like other investments are. In order to successfully invest in a metal such as gold, it is very important to follow the values very closely. This will allow you to sell the gold before the value decreases and you are forced to take a loss.

Real Estate. This investment may not seem risky to most people, but the real estate market fluctuates frequently. If you choose to purchase a building or home out of foreclosure in order to flip it and resell it, you will want to work fast and try to keep your budget low. The longer it takes to sell the home the more you will be spending on loans and interest. On the other hand if you purchase rental property, there is always a risk that your tenants will not pay the rent or will damage the home while they are living there.

postheadericon Children’s Best Books

Toddlers want to feel included and competent, so choose books that your child can follow along with, especially those with repetitive text so she can fill in words. Maintain your toddler’s interest by choosing books with short text on the page, as well as books about topics that you know are of-interest.

For younger toddlers you would want sturdy board books with pictures of kids doing the things they do everyday, nowadays there's already an iPad. Books about bedtime, baths, or mealtime are all good choices, so are books about saying hello or good-bye. Keep active hands busy with lift-the-flap pages and textures to feel.

Toddlers from 24 to 36months are able to turn paper pages, so this is a good time to explore beyond board books. They are also beginning to understand the mechanics of reading and like books that are repetitive and easy to memorize so that they can read along.

Mommy/Parent like to enjoy movie theater style popcorn at home with the Whirley pop popcorn popper. This fun little popcorn machine is easy to use, fun and make far more popcorn than a microwave bag of popcorn. It’s a healthier choice, and the kids will get excited in the movie journey every time they see you pull this appliance out of the cabinet. Healthy and Wholesome Popcorn isn’t just for kids or movies. It’s a great snack for adults, and kids enjoy eating it anytime. The Whirley pop is a healthier choice because there are no chemicals or preservatives. Cook plain popcorn and flavor it with real melted butter, parmesan cheese or other marvelous flavors that will make your popcorn even better than the movie theaters. Pop a Little or a Lot The hand-cranked stove top popcorn from Whirley Pop lets you make a little or a lot of popcorn. You can cook up to six quarts of popcorn in just three minutes, or you can cook a small amount if you just want a fast snack. Made from stainless steel and available in a beautiful red color, the Whirley Pop is easy to use. You can cook popcorn over the stovetop, and the crank allows you to keep the popcorn moving and prevent burning. The lid detaches for easy cleaning, but it also seals tight to keep in that great flavor when you are making the popcorn. Ideal for anyone who enjoys popcorn but wants to keep it healthy, the Whirl Pop is also a great choice for families who want that movie theater flavor in the comfort of their own kitchen.

postheadericon Causes of Speech Delays

A speech delay is basically a communication disorder among children who fail to converse properly when compared with other children of the same age. The cause may be because the child is busy learning other skills or she does not get much attention on her speech. Poor balanced diet and emotional stress may also contribute to speech delay. Or, those children whose parents are abusive are likely to have speech delay, mainly due to lack of communication. At times, physical causes such as mental retardation also lead to speech disorder.

Remember that just like other areas of development, a child develops verbally at her own pace. Some toddlers are already point out their body parts before they walk, others not well into their second year. Whatever the case, be patient; as long as you are exposing her to talking or talking to her often, then you just have to sit back and let nature take its course.

postheadericon The Dos and Don’ts of TV Viewing

There is a reason television is called the ultimate babysitter. Here’s why you should not treat it that way.

With the proliferation of so many educational shows and easy access to kiddie cable channels, more and more, parents/mommy think that it is okay to let their kids watch and learn from TV viewing. The early years are vital to a child’s development, and studies have yet to prove the absolute positive effects of television on infants and toddlers. However, researches on the benefits of parent and child interactions are already proven. Thus, recommended stimulation for children under the age of two must focus more on playing, singing, talking, reading, listening to music and meaningful communication between the child and parent. But if you really cannot avoid putting your child in front of the boob tube, you desperately need to distract her for a few minutes while you finish an urgent chore, or set time limits on TV viewing.

postheadericon Shopping

Almost 90 percent of Internet surfers (mostly mommy/ies, I think) have engaged in at least window shopping while on the Internet. Of those that have purchased something on the World Wide Web, there seem to be common features and platforms that online shoppers like and dislike about electronic storefronts. Page Loads Lagging web pages have already been a curse to visitor conversion statistics. No one wants a shopping journey process to sit and twiddle e-thumbs while a merchant's website loads pages slowly. Images and complicated programming can pull page load times into the “ether eternity” ranges. Webmasters, ensure your merchant sites keep up with today's technology and speed. Shopping Carts On the positive side of elements, shoppers love shopping carts on commercial sites. They love the convenience of saving individual items until they're ready to head to the check-out line. They don't want, though, involvement with any kind of online shopping cart software that tracks purchase history, captures and automatically adds their names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses to any kind of marketing list. Sales Pages Online shoppers like payment confirmation pages: Most online payment venues provide them, but always test your potential online shopping cart software to ensure it performs as advertised. The page should include UPC or SKU data, date and time of purchase, billing and shipping address, total purchase amount and applicable sales tax and an independent purchase tracking number or confirmation number. Summary Watch the few shopper dislikes and ensure your site has the listed shopper preferences, and you might find a greater Return on Investment or higher profit margin as you tailor your site for visitor retention and conversion.

postheadericon Developing Gross Motor Skills for Toddlers

Play a game of bowling or throwing with your child, using a small ball that she can easily manipulate. Line up objects she can bowl over such as recycled plastic bottles, plastic cups, or anything that could be used as a target. This improves her coordination as well as her muscles’ strength. Hanging ball from the ceiling is also effective on developing her motor skills by encouraging her to jump up and tap it with her palm. Anyway, use balls of different sizes, weight and textures.

When you are playing outside your home, playing bubbles is also good. Just blow bubbles and encourage her to chase after them, to pop or step on them as they float about or settle on the ground. Use a variety of materials like blocks and boxes that your child can walk, run or crawl over, under and through. Your child will learn easiest by imitation, so you should participate in the activity and demonstrate to her how to play the games.

A very good reminder for me toward my toddler is to have this always in mind.. :)

postheadericon What is a Proper Age for Life Insurance?

Life insurance is something that that some people just own as standard and other people journey just have when they have to. There are many reasons why having life insurance may or may not be a good idea. It is dependent on age, but very much determined by your responsibilities in life expectancy. Life insurance appropriation is discussed in more detail below.

As a singleton
If you are not in a long term relationship and have no dependents, then you may not feel that life insurance is for you. It is something that will pay out on death and may be something that would normally be considered to provide some money for dependents if a person dies. However, it can be worth taking it out to cover the cost of a funeral or any other expenses that may occur at death. There may also be family such as parents or siblings that a person may like to have some money after they have died.

As a spouse/partner
It is more likely that life insurance will be deemed as necessary if in a relationship. There may be shared expenses that need to be covered or it may be felt that it would be a nice gesture to leave something for the partner. The life insurance could be set up to pay out a lump sum which could be used or invested or it could be set up to provide a regular income which could be very useful.

As a parent
If you have dependents, such as children, then it is likely that you will want to make sure that they are well provided for if anything happens to you. Life insurance could provide a good sum of money that will help to pay for day to day expenses. It may pay off some debts or bills or even provide an income. It can help a mommy/daddy/family with any funeral costs, inheritance tax or other expenses that may need to be covered.

As a homeowner
If you have a mortgage, then you will have to get life insurance to pay off the mortgage should you die. This will last only for the term of the mortgage and only pay out enough to cover the value of the mortgage. This is useful as the house will then be paid off so no one is left with the responsibility of having to find the money to pay the mortgage.

In retirement
In retirement it may be felt that it would be good to have some life insurance to pay out to loved ones in death. If there is not much to inherit, it could mean that there will be a nice amount of money to help those left behind.

When taking out life insurance, health and age are considered. This means that taking it out at a younger age is a lot cheaper. It is therefore worth considering this as well, when thinking about having it. It may be worth buying a home in a journey at a young age as the insurance will be less than if you do it older. It may be better to save up money to leave after you die, rather than pay life insurance in retirement which could be very expensive.

postheadericon Love and Care for Others

It is our duty to God that we take care of ourselves. However, we should never overdo it. The parents’ duty is not limited to coaching children to love and care for others. Even more important is teaching them to be humane, to be sensitive to others’ feeling and to respect the dignity of each individual.

Encouraging children to share their toys is a golden opportunity to plant the seed of sharing. Seeing adults giving away old clothes and toys, children learn to be generous to the less fortunate. During dinner time, in cases where family cannot dine together, parents can teach sharing by getting aside food for the late-eaters.

At a young age, children should learn to get along with siblings and friends. During their teens they should be encouraged to join school clubs and civic groups. These provide the children opportunities for learning to cooperate and to coordinate with others.

postheadericon Why Family Bonding is Needed?

Nowadays, mostly both parents are working in order to live comfortable, to sustain the needs of the family and in order to send their children to a good school. However, there are some disadvantages of over-delegating task to the caregiver or to the school,  to watch out their children's manner and to care with them at home is not an obligation of the caregiver anymore (unless if one of the parents is the caregiver as as well -- or she's the one taking care of the child, mostly a mom which is often called as stay-at-home-mom) but it is the the parents obligation! On the other side, if you're delegating (should I say, over-delegating) your task to other person (or the caregiver), the effect to the children on that case is that they are more comfortable with their nanny(ies) than to the their parents, the worst case is that the child won’t go anymore with their mom and dad but they want more to be accompanied with their nannies. That’s why even once a week you must have time with your family, family bonding is needed, in order for your children to feel that you are not too far from them.

A thought of family bonding is up to you couples. You can make your very own bonding on your very own ways that both of you will be satisfied in all ways.

postheadericon Monitor Mounts

There are so many different types of monitor mounts available these days that it can be difficult to keep up with everything that is currently available on the market. You can shop monitor mounts at StandsandMounts.com, but you are probably going to be overwhelmed by all of the different options if you do not take some time to do your research before you visit their website. There are a large number of different monitor mounts available these days, and you need to know the difference between these different types of mounts before you can decide which one is the best option for your situation. If you work in an office, then you may want to look into the idea of getting a mount for the side of your current monitor.

When you have a mount on the side of one monitor, you can easily attach it to another monitor and give yourself the perfect two-screen display. This is the perfect setup for a lot of people, but some people simply do not need two screens to look at while they are working all day long. A solid option to look at if you are trying to find a spot in your kitchen for a monitor is a corner mount. This type of mount will allow you to mount the monitor in the corner of any room, and you will even be able to attach a swivel to it if you would like to be able to move it from side to side.

postheadericon Young Moms

Just thinking of making this post just in my own views about those young moms.

No wonder there are lots of young moms, those teenagers got married to their young age. And to took children in early time, which they did not enjoy their teenage life, they thought to be a mom is an easy job, but they are wrong.

I can tell that to be a mom is not easy, it is really difficult to be a young mom. I have friends who can tell how it is to be. Young moms, is now very common. Girls in their younger age dared to be a mom. That is scary, they just do not realize the real role of being a mother. So teens out there, careful and take time on your singleness do not run into marriage if you are not ready and settled enough. I can tell you, marriage as well as being a real mom, is not easy!

postheadericon Don’t Criticize

I think I am lucky that I am surrounded with supportive friends. Also, I have learned so many things when I was still in my birth country on how to raise a child. They say, don’t criticize your child’s works. If you are standing over your child and passing judgment on the results of what they do, they are not going to feel comfortable with their creativity. Children will eventually develop the ability to evaluate their own work and others work. Let them feel relaxed and free to use arts and crafts as they see it. When a child is given an environment that makes her feel free to be creative, they are going to open up their imagination and produce the best results. I  believe, there is no wrong way to draw a house, color a tree or play with a toy. For example, if your child colors the leaves blue, and the sky green, don’t tell her it is wrong. Let her explore her toys in different ways, like squeezing, shaking, hitting, even if they are not meant to be played in such a way. Give the child the freedom to express her creative ideas the way she sees it.

I have that in mind and I have to let myself remind that over and over again. :-)

postheadericon Temper Tantrums are Unhealthy?

Wrong. Not only are temper tantrums normal, but also they serve a healthy purpose. For young children with limited language skills, these bursts are often the only way to communicate their needs. In addition, temper tantrums provide our child with a much-needed outlet to vent their strong emotions of anger and frustration.

According to experts or pediatricians, for most parents, parenting knowledge comes from two main sources: how they were raised and common knowledge gleaned from media and the advice of other well-meaning people. Some of this information will be useful, but at times, it may be based on outmoded views, different beliefs, and even faulty research. Not all of what we have heard about temper tantrums may be true, and not all of it applies to you and your family. Temper tantrums are not bad, and neither are the children who have them.

Temper tantrums are not planned events. With rare exception, our child does not set out to willfully misbehave when she has a temper tantrum. If we help our child acquire self-control as she learns appropriate ways to express her strong emotions, you should expect her to become a happy and well-adjusted teen and adult.

postheadericon Cute Nursing Pillow for Babies

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Comfort and Harmony for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Being a parent, we are expected to know intuitively what is best for our child. It is true; there is no one in the world who will know your child’s needs better than you do. Aside from the food that we gave to them, we also make sure that our child is in a safe, and so, healthy environment is one or the most important way to ease our mind.
By the way, I have found a while ago a very cute nursing pillow for babies. It has a unique shape purposely designed for babies to ensure that the baby is comfortable when sleeping or lounging. The soft side is very comfy for babies, while the firm side will give extra support for mommy and her nursing baby. The mombo nursing pillow comes in different colors and designs that suit to our baby’s gender. And this is the only nursing pillow that has a vibrant feature to ensure that the baby will have a great calming, restful, gentle experience while relaxing.
Honestly, I liked buying this mombo pillow for my little princess. Since, pink is my favorite color for her, I would like to shop the pink Comfort & Harmony mombo in Butterfly Whispers Deluxe Nursing Pillow. By the way, you can find this product at Toys R Us (and Babies R Us). If you have babies, toddlers at home, you might want to check out the other mombo products available and start shopping for your kid’s stuff.
