postheadericon Busy-As-A-Bee Mommy-To-Be (this August) !

One more day from now, and it will be August month already. Time flies, huh! During August month, this mommy-to-be is fully packed of schedule of my journey of my trimester pregnancy up to being a mommy-at-hand. Such schedule I said is all about being mommy-to-be, not as a homemaker. Why? It is because I have to attend classes of three: the (1) Childbirth Classes. As it has been said on the brochure:
This four-class course focuses on discomforts in the third trimester, signs of labor, breathing & relaxation techniques, stages of labor, possible laboring positions, medical procedures and options, caesarean birth, the postpartum mother's experience, and much  more.
This class is a session of two and a half hours {2.5 hrs} every Wednesdays beginning this Wednesday approaching {August 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th}. The other class that I have to attend is the  (2) Baby Care Class which is good for a day of two and a half hours {2.5 hrs} which will be on the 3rd week of August by Thursday (August 18th). According to the brochure:
This class provides information to prepare parents for the care of their newborn. Topics discusses include feeding, bathing, swaddling, diapering and tips for comforting a "fussy" baby and much more.
The other one class that I have to attend is the (3) Breastfeeding Class - Off To A Good Start! I plan to breastfeed my coming-baby and I think this class is best for me as a first time momma. Sure it is a common sense what a breastfeeding is but I want to know the latest this and that. I want to ensure that I know how, the precautions and etcetera. This class by the way is good only for a day of two and a half hours (2.5) which I have to attend the week after the last day of Childbirth Classes {Thursday, August 25th}. According to the brochure:
This class offers information on breastfeeding including techniques and positioning, correct latch-on, skin-to-skin benefits, common myths, special circumstances, importance of dad's support, pumping & storing (of breast milk), returning to work, weaning and much more.
This is good for a day of two and a half hours too just like the others, for a day.

The three classes (Baby Care, Breastfeeding and Childbirth) will cost me $65 for a package because I will be delivering at the hospital where the classes held. Others who will attend that won't deliver on that said hospital will pay $85, so it's an advantage because I have a discount. :-)

Now, am I not that busy on August month? What a schedule! Hemmmm.... but on September my schedule is a zero one (it's a must on the list) for baby's coming. :-)

postheadericon Plus-Size Clothing

Alright, I gain weight. It is not bad because it is expected for a pregnant woman to gain weight. Thankfully I am not overweight anymore. First time of myself that a doctor told me I am that overweight. I cannot blame her, in fact I admire the way she cares about my health and the baby growing inside of me. She just care that I would have an abnormal delivery one day sooner. I cannot guarantee that I would have a normal delivery but the thing that I follow precautions and doctor's advises, is one step of a journey to have a normal one. Pray for me that I would have that because it is hard to have a caesarian delivery. Speaking of getting big, after I deliver my precious one soon enough, for sure I would belong to the group of plus size women who will dressed-up plus size clothes because the body would not directly going down as easy as 1-2-3. Getting back the body I had requires a lot of effort and I should have to expect ups and downs on that journey especially that I plan to breastfeed my baby.

I won't not going to worry about being a plus-size woman because plus size clothing is available everywhere. And my baby is the center of my attention of that time especially that she will just be a newborn, a very delicate one. Worrying about body measurement is not my thing on that time. Baby comes first. As long as I am healthy and eat the right kind of foods that my baby and I require, am already happy about that. I can guarantee of myself that plus size clothing for women is not hard for me to search. Being plus-size woman is just temporary for me though. My ultimate goal is getting back my normal body measurement. To those who like being in plus-size, worry-not about where to get plus-size clothes because it is just in front of you.

postheadericon Calgary Rental Houses

We cannot guarantee our journey to be stable. Only, we have choices and there are solutions as well for the obstacles. When talking about living, most of the times livelihood comes first (of course excluding family) especially that we cannot move without bucks nowadays. It is a must. So when livelihood/work tells that we have to go to Calgary, Canada for work, then we will. Though having a decision about it is skeptic but we must get it if we need, thinking that work is hard to find. Worry-not of place to live in because Rent Calgary is not hard to find. We can even find it at the tip of our mouse. It offers a wide selection of rented houses, apartments and even townhouses to choose from. We just have to think how many bedrooms we like, bathrooms, type, price range and even how big it is. It has a lot choices which is great even if you will be moving with your aged mom or with a pregnant wife or girlfriend. :-)

So check and find it out the rates and etcetera. Check it out and see for yourself or you might like to tell your friends or family circle the info you receive. After all, they will be the one to choose which is which and the price matters and alike. Helping a friend/family like this is already a big help. Now that you have an idea about such, it is not then a tedious work just to find a reference and such because it comes in handy. Yes, at the tip of your mouse and you can see the different choices. Good luck with the search journey and all the best!

postheadericon Online Maternity Shopping

Who among you here mommies, mommies-to-be who are fond of clothes? Well, if you are one of them, include me of your group too! :-) I am a clothes person and I shop clothes especially that I am pregnant. Well, come to think of it, I guess most women does. Yours truly, mommy-to-be love seeing people wearing comfortable clothes even if I was not pregnant yet. And I would like to continue that even having a big bump on my tummy. :-) And so another batch of maternity clothes (not a lot though) is entertaining you above or where the two going-together below. I shop this online.
I got great stuffs though that two look-alike or same style dresses (florals on the left corner) are too big for now, so I have to wait the time I have a big bump or the baby grows big. And the one colorful dress on the right corner is small for me but maybe I can use that when my body goes back to normal before I got pregnant after I deliver my baby Sam. :-) Those are good stuffs at a great price I paid.

postheadericon Doctor's Appointment Was a Success

Though there is no ultrasound for the baby-in-my-tummy, still was a success. It was just a short visit. I do not know if she made it fast or it is really what it is, or what. I wanted to have an ultrasound every time I visit there but then it is fine (just comforting myself. Ha! :-p). As usual, the assistant checked my weight, blood pressure and urine. Afterwards, my ob-gyne just checked the length of my tummy and the baby-in-my-tummy heart beat. Then asked if I have questions or concerns. I just tell that I have leg cramps and shortness of breath which she said it is just fine and gave me some tip on how to overcome on it. She added that palpitation is also normal. This mommy-to-be's doctor/ob-gyne told that I have a normal weight (thankfully, not overweight anymore as being pregnant of 32 weeks and two days) which is 135 lbs. My blood pressure also is fine (of course according to her) which is 104/60. My tummy height as she measure is fine too, I forgot how tall my tummy is, the only thing I remember is it is doing great, not tall and not also dwarf. *wink* (kidding aside but seriously on the other hand) And that is it! She then told me to get an schedule for the next two weeks to see her, as prenatal. I waited a bit to get the appointment schedule (which isn't usual, the first time I waited just to get the schedule) but it is fine. And that is it! DH and I then went home. Oops, not yet, I went first to the store for grocery and DH got quarters too for laundry then waited outside until I was done. Great! :-)

postheadericon Cool iPad Sleeve

Owning an iPad gadget from Apple is such awesome. How could not be if it is a gadget and you do not need to pay for it. Oops! I do not have yet any for now but I hope one day I can have. Am envious to those who have but that is life, we cannot everything. :-) If this mommy-to-be would have it, I would like to have a personalized iPad sleeve that has my name (or an e-name/nickname with an initial surname) and favorite color on it. Am still on the journey of having one. Not yet now because it is more of a luxury for me and I cannot use it often if I have one because am on my laptop always. But then, it is still awesome to have it. Am I on the verge of dreaming journey? Nope! Just wishing. :-)

Either if you are a mommy/mommy-to-be or not, I can bet you are also wanting such, aren't you? There are vertical also custom iPad sleeves that anyone would love to have. I cannot just stop thinking about it but I have to calm down or this baby-in-my-tummy will kick me hard. :-) Nah, you bet it she is just kicking now. It is such cool (the iPad and the baby *wink*)! God is great and am so thankful for this gift of life am carrying now. Bless this baby Oh Lord.

postheadericon Doctor's Appointment Tomorrow

Am on my second day of my 32nd week pregnancy. Obviously, am already on my third trimester. You already know am already on the appointment of my ob-gyn every two weeks. And soon enough will go there every week. And so tomorrow afternoon will be my doctor's visit. An ultrasound and a baby-in-my-tummy heartbeat will be done. I hope this serves as a reminder of my doctor's journey tomorrow. Ha! Oops! I have to set the alarm in my phone anyway. I already learned my lesson last time that I forgot it. Ooh well. No forgetting anymore. This is important so this mommy-to-be have to bear it in mind, or would you remind me? *wink* Just kidding. I have to remind myself!

My tummy is getting heavier. I even have stretch marks on my lower right tummy. I did not realized the scratch I made. I had cocoa butter lotion and an itch cream but it did not occur to my mind the lower part could be the very much possible of stretch marks. Careless me, I know! Now, I keep on putting cocoa butter and itch cream on it every time I go to the rest room for body's request (okay, to urinate) hoping it would not be visible after I deliver my baby. Hopefully!

And so am ready for a doctor's appointment for tomorrow. Have to sign-off now. Have a great night (or should I say mor-night as in morning-night/dawn)! ~hugs&kisses~

postheadericon Crowd and Control

When I was not yet a mommy-to-be, well, single too, I used to work in a company where I have to deposit checks and at the same time get money to pay the workers. That was how many years ago. I was still young and fresh. *wink* I can remember the bank was always crowded (and even now), it has many clients. Clients here and there inside. One day when I was in my transaction journey, I was very impressed of what the bank put going into the teller area for crowd control. It was impressive. It help people stay in lines and keep the transactions went smoothly. As I go into different establishments, I can see that crowd control stuff cannot only be seen in bank but in the gyms for concerts, political events and even in department or grocery stores, etc. That stanchions really help. And most companies or any establishments does nowadays. The good thing is stanchions consists of  retractable belts, velvet rope and more other ways being developed. So more styles of choices coming.  More so, it can even have printing done on the belts!

Talking about crowd like in national holidays celebration like having parades, street dancing and such, we always see barricades to maintain traffic control, security and privacy. There are even fence barricades, traffic cones, pipe and drape walls and  many alike just to make as people witnessing the event are safe and sound. So everybody happy!

postheadericon My Maternity Pillow

One item that is very essential to me as a pregnant one. I bought this online and I find it great. It helps me a lot in my sleep. It does wonder, though there's still that pain (alright, it's always there). The good thing is, it helps.

And I think I can still use this as my pillow even if I would be pregnant anymore. It is a comfy pillow, not just for pregnant women. So I "hit two birds at a bang! " ;-)

postheadericon Materni-Tea and Tour

July 19, 2011 (yesterday) @ 7:00 - 9:00 pm was the Materni-Tea and Tour in the hospital where I am going to deliver my baby on September 15 (my due date but it can be before that date). The Materni-Tea and Tour was a success, I was there together with my DH and the rest of the pregnant women with their husbands. Though DH was a bit uncomfortable because he did not eat first (there's foods in the hospital meeting place but just snacks, fruit cake and drinks: juice and water, coffee) and did not know when it will end (he even said he wanted to go home already, ha!), still I can see on his face afterwards (when we got home) that he was fine and smiled at me telling that I was the first few who attended that already had big tummy. Waaa! Yep, there were 18 couples including us (DH&I) who attended, it's crowded I know. Such activity started with a few explanation about the booklet and some info given, then had some snacks. After that, we had a tour going to the labor and delivery room as well as caesarian rooms. Then went up to the 5th floor showing us the rooms (all rooms are private) for the postpartum recovery. It is basically a tour in the hospital where the delivery journey will be made for the soon-to-be mommies (we will be called mommy very soon. Whew! *smile*), where the buttons located to push when nurse is needed and some electricity-how-to's stuffs. At first (and until now *grin*) I cannot comprehend much why it was called Materni-Tea but then I just realized, okay, I just now understand why is that has been called a Materni-Tea which in fact, there is no tea being displayed in the meeting. Drinking tea by the way is not good for a pregnant. As to my sense, it is called Materni-tea because expectant mothers who will going to deliver in that hospital are able to meet and great. It is the deeper meaning of tea, as just like tea party, the difference is that there is no tea served. So, it has been said as that for the deep meaning of tea, not physically. :-) What you think? ;-)

postheadericon Fun Lab Coats and Scrubs

A recent trip to the clinic a few blocks down the road was such a welcome experience, much thanks to the parade of nurses and aids clad in those mens lab coats. It is about time they make such fashion sense and create fashion statements out of the normally-boring-down-pat and usually ignore-them-when-i-see-them medical scrubs and lab coats. If you ask me, these daily-work staple clothing makes these people less intimidating, if not friendlier. Suddenly a mom-to-be/mommy's journey (and alike) to ob-gyn or any doctor's clinic is no longer something you would always dread or something that will bore you to your wit’s ends. It could be at times, though, well who really goes to the doctor to be entertained, right? It is 100% business when you do, unless you have a doctor for a best friend!

Now, at least, you will have those interesting outfits such as scrubs for men which we can find at: http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Men/ to look at and keep you occupied while waiting for you lab result or waiting in line for your turn. As for myself, it don't look good for me wearing scrubs, well, maybe just the style of it. Looks like a, what they said "gay-look " . Oops! But not anymore. And if in case your own clinic has yet to discover these fashionable, patient-friendly medical outfits, would you be such a doll and leave them a note telling something you just discovered. :-)

postheadericon Maternity Accessories

Underwears, thin shirts and other inside shirts maternity accessories. I am thankful I have plenty of those. My own little (little when saved and added eventually grows) income does its wonder plus DH gave me bucks and let me get a good deal to have it. I am a savvy person so I make sure to have great deal even it takes time for me to get it happen. I hunt good deals. If I found pricey but worth, I go for it but most of the time I go for sale and alike as long as I found great ones, then go! I always believe of good though I also believe of "you get what you pay for". :-)

postheadericon So What's Up Baby?

Talking about mommy journey, now am on my third trimester. This is the last trimester am going to behold. I have a prenatal check-up every two weeks already from once a month and then it will be every week sometimes soon. Upon having such thoughts, most of the time, the baby-in-my-tummy also have a lot of moves. I meant, she also has her journey there inside. :-) The  moving seems to me that she's dancing or having a back roll. Oops! It tickles me most of the time, not to mention that it got me her attention. As in I was just feeling that she is having a peek-a-boo with me especially in times of a silent moments. I can only just wonder. Of course I know if she moves a lot, she is healthy inside. That is why I am happy when she does that. It makes me smile and thankful that she moves most. It is just a sign that she is there. Hehe! You have to know that when she does not move within the maximum of 12 hrs of my pregnancy, it is scary and I have to go to emergency in hospital to have her check (God forbid! *knock on woods*). Am enjoying even though my tummy is a bit heavy already. I can hardly got up in bed or have a toenails cut and even walking afar sometimes. It doesn't take an early childhood education degree for my baby to know that I care deeply, and will cherish every moment of this precious journey.

postheadericon About Completely Done Shopping Baby Stuffs

If you follow me along my posts, you already know I just did my shopping thing for my incoming-baby. It was an overwhelming moment, I did not know I bought much of her needs. This mommy-to-be had a list of things to buy and even put how many pieces should I have to get. I was even told not to buy a lot since she will outgrow it fast. I shop at two stores at different days, that's my excuse, ha! Why? Because if it's in one store only, I can see how many are they and can control. Waaaahh! Acceptable? Not! I know. After the major shopping, I put all the dresses together (NewBorn up to 9 months) as well as the gifts given by my precious friends excluding the 12 years clothes up to toddler (just only few of them) and I startled upon seeing of it. Maybe not much of you but for me, it is already much for her basic clothes. And yep, the costs of it too! Waaaa! The bad thing is most of it (only 5 pairs have tags left) I already took-off the tags so I can no longer return it. Bad! I can see myself kept looking at it (it's in the couch because I am preparing it to wash so I can see it always and I don't want to wash it yet because it's not yet in time. I schedule my chores you know) and just calm down myself, instead being positive about it. After all, she's my first baby and wanted to have second baby too. :-) Hoping it's still a girl but am more of a boy for the second one to make it pair. But then who knows? :-) Anyway, that's my journey of buying stuffs for my first baby as being a first-time mom. It is a tedious task! I have to imagine how many months she will be that time and her weight.

postheadericon A Mommy Role According to Me

Getting married and starting a family changes a person’s priorities. She no longer thinks about her needs first but always makes sure that her family’s needs are met. She makes sure that her priority is her family. With the various roles that women play these days – being a wife, a mother, a career woman; having their priorities in order is a must. But we all know that we do not only think about the present needs of our family. As a mother-to-be, I also think about the future of my children. I know that a good education can give them the advantage in finding a good career. I have browsed through sites like WaldenU.edu just to have an idea of what my options are. I want to provide them with the best choices there is when it comes to education. If they want to pursue a degree in Master of Public Health, then that is entirely up to them. I will support them in any way I can. I have also looked at sites that offer University Degrees Online just to see what they offer. College is still a couple of years from now as I she even is here in my womb but I still want to be prepared.

I know how important it is for them to have quality education. The rising cost of putting your children in school is a major concern which is why as early as now, I am trying to find ways on how I will be able to provide the best education for my children in the future. Ah, a mommy's journey can be tough but it is enjoyable on the other hand.

postheadericon Shopping Baby Clothes and Stuffs

Weekends is the best days for me to shop since I don't have a car, DH then could take and get me afterwards. It is not that I don't want my hubby to be with me shopping such but he has also something to do and besides, he will just be bored checking the colors and such knowing me that I could stay and just go there and here just to get the better deal and quality that I want. Sunday is my second day of shopping for my incoming baby. I cannot just shop just like the ole days to which I will just ride a bus with my friends because both of them are on-vacation. Te Claudia is on one-month vacation and Dorie is in the Philippines with here two daughters, having a vacation as well. It's also not that they are not there for me (aside from that reasons) but it's great sometimes that I have to do it my own. Preciel can't be there because she has 4-years old energetic son and a daughter to look into. Oops, it's Sunday you know. :-) Anyway, it's my personal stuff and it didn't bother me going shopping alone especially that it is for my incoming baby Sarah Ann. The major stuffs to buy has to be bought this weekends so the next things to attend to (like materni-tea tour in the hospital where I will going to deliver (its every Tuesday 7pm but not on the 4th week because it's Chinese language), one day only), birthing and baby care class as well as breastfeeding which is good for four (4) days which is day a week from 7pm-9:30 pm every Wednesday of the week starting first week of August, and so on and so forth. So I have to get this done because I still have to arrange, wash, iron the clothes, prepare, etc. I want it organized as long as I can you know. Mommies/mommies-to-be, homemakers, wives mostly does that.

postheadericon Some Safety Measure At Home

When we constantly hear about instances of theft or home invasion, we, as parents, cannot help but feel weary about our own family’s safety. The crimes that we hear about can happen to anybody that is why we should always think of how we can ensure the safety of our family and of our homes. Installing a security system in our homes may prove to be a wise decision. It may be quite expensive at first, especially for a mom like me who oversees our family’s finances, but I’m sure that most of you would agree that the security and peace of mind that our family gets outweigh any amount of money. If you are still undecided as to which company can provide the best protection for our homes, try browsing online for sites like home security barling and see for yourselves the various services and devices they can provide for your homes.

Having an effective home security can give you the peace of mind that your family deserves. You can be more confident about leaving your home for a couple of days for a much needed family vacation. Your whole family can spend the whole day at home and enjoy watching high quality movies and TV shows from Direct TV without having to worry about conspicuous individuals entering your premises.

postheadericon 30th Week of Pregnancy

On the 6th of July, marked my 30th week of pregnancy. Had my doctor/ob-gyn/prenatal appointment the 8th of July, exactly the second day of my 30th week. I had this every two weeks of seeing my doctor/prenatal beginning the other two weeks, so this is my second prenatal that went every other two weeks. And this will be like this until about my due date. Then soon enough I have to see my doctor/ob-gyn every other week. The prenatal was successful. I had an ultrasound (but don't have a copy of pics but then it's fine) and some other chitchat. The ultrasound gave us the smiles, her hands already showing big. She's already four pounds and two ounce (4 lbs & 2 oz) in weight. It's just funny that I ask how tall she is because any doctor can't measure because a baby(ies) can't be straightened. She/he/they always on the nodding position. :-) Now I know, height can't be measured when the baby is still on the tummy. I just hope, she won't be "he" when comes out. ;-) Or else the pinks couldn't be used. And that's it, nothing else other than the doctor prescribed me to start taking iron supplement to take everyday with the stool softener medication to take everyday both in addition to my calcium supplement (twice a day) and the prenate elite vitamin (once a day). So all in all, I now take five (5) medicines a day until after breastfeeding. Wow! That's a lot, isn't it? But then the doctor prescribed me for this because it is good for me, better than its other side. Happy pregnancy for me. *wink*

I sure love clothes. If you're looking for maternity clothes to feel comfortable, but yet still stylish during your pregnancy then check out the wide collection at http://www.very.co.uk/. Check out the website to find out more information.

postheadericon Am On 29th Week of Pregnancy

June 29th was my 29th week. Oops, that's also a St. Peter Day. But then I did not think about commemorating such, after all, it isn't a big deal here in USA unlike in the Philippines, my birth country especially if you leave close-up to bodies of water. Ah, 29th week on the 29th of June. Hehe! Memorable huh! Now that it's July 3rd, so it is already 29 weeks and 3 days. Time flies-by so fast but then am excited. I want to see her already but then I have to wait. And also I still have a lot to do the following days. I am not ready yet to go to the hospital in case she will go out anytime during on the 7th month (ooh Lord, please not *knock on woods*). I still have to prepare her clothes, buying and washing down to arranging. Some more stuffs still has to prepare. Her bed and others. Good luck to me! Even my clothes going to hospital and back to home was not prepared yet. I have faith in Lord to guide me. Please pray for me too. Everything's under control but prayer and Lord's guide is the best of them all. Help me God. Am all yours.

postheadericon Maury

(Authored by Leandro Delgado)

One of my favorite talk shows to watch on satellite tv, that I got after seeing these cannonsatellite.com, has to be the Maury show. I love this particular program so much because he has a plethora of different guests who come on and discuss different topics that I find truly inspiring. For instance, the one time he had random children on there who would be classified as obese. Their parents were also there and were trying to ask for help to keep their children from eating so much. During that program, I learned just how unhealthy being obese is and I devoted myself to losing as much weight as I possibly could. I still can not believe that just one show allowed me to lose about twenty pounds in the long run.

He also does a lot of paternity tests and is probably so well known for these shows. The woman will come on and say how she knows that this man is her father but he's not taking responsibility for their baby. They go for testing and then they can find out if the man really is the dad or if the woman was just trying to either get money from him or put her baby onto him. It's really fantastic and I tend to find myself laughing each and every time one of these particular shows comes onto the air while watching it.
