postheadericon My Awesome Little Helper

My toddler daughter SAM, just turned 21 months old can already do a lot. She can't speak that much yet and I even think she's a little delayed because of her oral aversion., but nonetheless because she can already utter few words and keeps on imitating me when talking to her (not every time but when she's relax, she's always on the go, as in curious in everything her hand can reach). I just have to keep closely on her speech development and eating status. And teach her more.

It has been months (maybe two or three months ago or so), she started keeping an eye on my feet that every time my feet are naked, she has to find my slippers or shoes and put it back on. It has been her habit, I think, and it amazes me. She's very busy toddler but never forgot to take a look at my feet if it has slippers/shoes on. Ha! She can also open our door bathroom as well as close the doors every time it is open. Looks like she's a door guard, I always tease that to her. :) She can do much more like putting trash in a trashcan, and the likes.

She can also relay a thing on her hand from our living room and just give instruction to give it to her dad in the bedroom --- she always does it perfect. She's a perfect little helper! ;-)

My SAM now understands more and I feel happy with that!

postheadericon Stress Management

How much stress can you take? If you really think about it, everyday is always a test in stress management, especially for a first time mom just like me. Responsibilities have become more complex, a career being a stay-at-home-home requires more demands, and even relationships are strained by the demands of daily survival. And whether the source of stress is physical such as when one fears for one’s safety or that of her loved ones, environmental or emotional which includes worrying about things one can’t change, the result is still often detrimental to one’s well-being.

Most people when the stress attack, they think that food could help them relax. Chocolates and candy, ice cream, chips, cookies and cakes, or dining at the fast food are the foods on their mind when they felt stressed out. We may not admit it, but since many of our food choices and eating habits are visible. Good luck to us! :-) Be stress-free and learn to cope-up in times of its attack, at the same time of a healthy choices.

postheadericon Keeping Your Child’s Development Offline

It is normal for today’s mom to be proud of whatever development their children are having. That’s why pictures of firsts like first-step, first-grip, and first-immunization-day photos can fill up their social networking accounts. There’s nothing bad about it but some parents would rather choose to keep their children’s profile offline for some very important reasons.

These parents decided to keep it because they don’t want to place their children’s information for possible cyber-bullying acts. It believed that what has been posted online can never be kept private even with the presence of privacy options. These parents would want to involve their children with this kind of activity online but would then let them decide when the right time comes.

When these children will know how to operate gadgets or with parental guidance would finally know how to have their online accounts but not social networking because basically it is not allowed when a child is below 18 years old as per Facebook Rules and Guidelines (by the way Facebook is the leading social networking site nowadays), when they're already 18, then that’s the time that could decide to share their photos online.

postheadericon Values at Home

Honesty is the best policy, and honesty pays. The virtue of honesty should be part of the children’s training. Children should be disciplined for telling lies and for stealing are not good, and should be rewarded when they are honest enough to tell the truth or return things they don’t own. Equally important is to call the children’s attention when they are dubious in their dealings with people.

Children should have good personal cleaning habits, and should be trained to keep their rooms neat and well-organized. Giving them chores and rewarding them afterwards are ways of teaching them to be conscious of their surroundings and take responsibility. They should also be taught to be civic-conscious by not littering in public places.

The good life should never be presented to children on a silver or gold platter. During children’s schooling years, studying well should be a task and a responsibility. Temper children’s allowances. At a young age, they should be taught to save and to spend judiciously.

postheadericon Life is Not Complicated Enough as It Is

I would like to ask this to all mothers. How do you manage holding an academic position while being a wife, mother and homemaker at the same time? Well, I am not currently employed in a company. I stayed at home all day and night together with my little angel of my life. I sometimes blog if I get a chance. And now, I realize that many women today live in a similar situation.

In this stage, mothers performing other roles do not sound uncommon. The question perhaps which these well-meaning friends really want to ask is this: How do you behave as a wife, subordinate to your husband, while occupying your time with your child? Truthfully, it is hard. I am just lucky because my husband never acted like a king in our home. In fact, he has time to take care of our only child when he gets a chance, or sometimes even if he is tired from work. He likes being with his little angel. Just like when he arrived from work today, instead of laying his back on the bed, so he could rest for a while, he played with Sarah. That was really an awesome scene for me. I just hope that hubby will always be a devoted father to Sarah, and a supportive husband to me.

postheadericon My Hubby, Sam and I

Hubby, Sam and I are the core of the family. I cannot live without them. They are my strength and my love for life. A family cannot be called a family without a kid as mostly said. Now Sam is here, so we are now a family. I am contented with what I have now. Before I dreamt of having a kid and now God gave me a cute daughter. Hooray to that! It is normal with other families out there to be very busy specially those who have kids, yeah more than one kid. And they're happy and gay too. Yay!

The family becomes more stronger and stronger because of the kid/s. So my journey with Sam and my hubby is what God showered to me and my family. Thankful and blessed! Can’t ask for more. God above knows my desire and HE is the only one who sees my desires and needs. I am so thankful that HE gave me the man that I love, the daughter that gives me the smile. With that, I can do everything and be happy every  single day. :-)

postheadericon Certified Mommy’s Journey

I am very thankful for what I have now. I am a proud momma, mama, mother, mommy, momi, mami or whatever you called of, being a "mom". I may not be perfect but of course this life is what I want to be. There are some circumstances which cannot be avoided along the way that bothers me but of course this is life. I was, am and will embrace it the way it is.  Challenges are just a decoration of life, spices as mostly said. And I know everything will be alright in time as looking forward of what would gonna cross my way, the challenge.

Being a newly mom is fun but not easy. On the other hand, I know I will get used which I am exercising it now. :-) Now, I can really relate what my granny told me before (I grew-up in my grannies). There were times that I complaint to my grannies about simple things before and my grannies told me that you will know how to be a mom when you become a mom of your own. Indeed right! Proven and tested.

Sam is still a baby yet I know how hard to be a mom. I salute how my grannies managed me. They brought me up in the right way, giving good education and good moral until I am on my own. What I am now is their fruit of their labor of bringing me up. I missed them. Okay, I am now a certified mommy and this journey is what it makes it more meaningful. I love it!

postheadericon Medical Transcriptionist

I have heard that some of my friends are applying for some medical transcriptionists online. Is this for real? Well, it is proven as one of them is earning now. So great that this is another way to earn online. What should I do then? Well, I am planning to take the application and will see what will be the result. This medical transcriptionist don't need any medical experiences, you must just be very clever in listening and transcribing the correct words during the conversation of the said tape. This is cool enough! Maybe I can transcribe when Sam is sleeping or when I have free time. It doesn't required time and day for you to finsih the job. It is up to you if you will get the job or not. So no pressure moment for this job.

So anybody are into this kind of online job? Can you please give some tips on how this works well?

postheadericon Ways to Ease Depression

Are you depressed? Are you lonely? I admit sometimes I feel like depressed and lonely. I am a mommy, wife, friend, child and ooh yeah, I am just human and of course I felt what those normal people do. Living abroad is not easy.  Some of my friends are encountering depression. This is serious yet normal, but we must just know how to fight against it!
I found some solutions here:
1.      Surf the Internet ---> People can’t live without surfing into net now, by surfing you can be updated of the happenings around. You can be entertained by people online. Chatting, calling and interacting others can ease you loneliness. One thing, Facebook helps.

2.      Watch Movies ---> Try to watch movies that drives your interest. Make sure that it is your favorite movie. Call a friend around to watch on together or your husband or if you choose to be alone then do it!

3.      Take a warm bath -> As far as I read, taking warm bath can help. The warmth from the bath will have a calming effect on the nerves and will soothe the body. The bath will leave you feeling fresh and positive.

4.     Go to the beach ---> If you like beach, it is great to go there and feel the serenity of the sand and the crystal clear seawater (or you can also go to lake, river or pond perhaps)

Hope this can help! Mommies and everyone, live freely as possible. Free yourself even in a little while. Remember, life is a journey and not a destination!

postheadericon The Role of Being a Mom

Being a mother is really a huge role for it brings a lot of meaning to every child. It is one unique blessing that God gave us mothers, not just to do the things for us but to give us love every time we need it, for without mothers there is no “us”. I remember one time, when I was still in grade school, my grandmom (who took care of me instead of my mom. She's a mother to me) used to wake up early to prepare things for me before I go to school, that time I haven’t realize the importance she gave me and never thanked her at all (that time), until I have my own daughter to do the same how she did to me, I just hope one day when my daughter grow up he can realize the things I did for her as well, that for sure is immeasurable.

The time you gave birth to your child will truly explains the vital role of a mother, from the start of conceiving up to the end even taking care of your grandchildren will also take place, a very extended one, but still its really true and it happens. Mothers will never stop caring for their children.

postheadericon How to Make a Berry Cheesecake from Home

One of the best summer treat for friends and family is a fresh berry topped cheesecake. It is not only a delectable treat for everyone, but also a beautiful show stopper. Everyone who will see it will surely awe over the beautiful dessert. The good thing about this dessert is that you can make it from your very own kitchen.
We will make a recipe that can make 24 servings. The finished product will be a 9 x 13 inches rectangle cake. This size can serve the entire family or will make a little piece each night of the week for dessert.
For the crust
2 Cups Wafer crumbs
6 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup refined sugar
For the filling
1 cup granulated sugar
1 package (3.4 oz) JELL-O Lemon flavored instant pudding

4 8oz packages cream cheese
4 eggs
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons fresh lemon zest
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
For the topping
1 package whipped topping
1 cup each blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, sliced strawberries 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
You need to preheat oven to 325 degree Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, line a 13 x 9 inch pan with foil. Make sure that the ends of foil extended over the sides of the pan.
In a medium bowl, combine the wafer crumbs, butter and sugar. Pour the crust mixture into the prepared pan. Press the bottom of the pan firmly, and bake for 10 minutes.
Mix the cream cheese and sugar in a blender or mixer and blend well until smooth. You can add sour cream and mix well. Once mixed, add the lemon zest, lemon pudding mix and lemon juice. Blend them well until thoroughly combined. You can start adding the eggs, one at a time. You need to adjust the blender to slow speed while adding the eggs. Once smooth, pour this mixture over the crust.
Bake the mixture for approximately one hour or until the center is almost done. Let it cools fully before putting it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
Transfer the cheesecake to a tray and add and mix thoroughly the vanilla extract to the whipped topping. You need to spread the topping over the cake. Finally, decorate it with fresh fruits.

postheadericon Holy Friday!

Today commemorates the day that the Lord has made, Lord the Son, that is. He has been made and destined to save us, humans, to free from our first sin which we inherited from our fore-parents Adam and Eve. This is in Roman Catholic Religion's practice, to which Catholics commemorates this date and being grateful of what He had done to us. God sacrificed Himself and gave his only Son. HE is amazing!

A mommy or not, we are oblige to commemorate HIS kindness. Everything God has done for us. So today we value His existence and yes, have our self-reflection. Have a great Holy Friday to all of you!

Any Travel Plans This Lenten Season

For some this season is a perfect time to contemplate on their lives and their faith and to reconnect with the creator with the help of many related activities. Then, for some others, the few days off from work is a great opportunity to get on with that long overdue vacation and trip they have been putting off all year-long in favor of work and school. May that be a quick out-of-town getaway or a grand four-day holiday in a top destination of their choice, maybe France or England! Whichever destination you choose, bear this helpful travel tips in mind, for a stress-free and enjoyable travel and holiday:

1. Read about the place you are visiting beforehand and take note of the key city attractions you would like to see, make a list if you must, so you can maximize your limited time

2. If this is a non-English speaking country like you are speaking French, best to get a translator (or an interpreter), or a tour guide to help you work your way around. Hiring a French translation agency would prove beneficial if you are touring the French cities for the first time and do not want get lost in the sea of foreign-speaking people.

3. Do not forget to check out the museums and the churches. European countries comes with plenty and it will be a worthwhile place to visit, rich in information of the country’s history and culture.

postheadericon Overwhelm

I feel overwhelm, it is in between of happiness and sadness. The good thing is more of the former, yes, the happiness. Why? It is because my daughter's fever has already subside. And she's asleep now. Thanks God! Though, it's not that so long but she was uneasy beginning 4:00 pm until 11 pm because of her fever due to her vaccination pneumococcal shot. I think it's not because of that specific shot because she has been energetic (as she always is but not when came from, she always asleep after giving her milk at home from Doc) lately, instead of sleeping. Thought, she has her shot on her right leg. I felt overwhelm of that hours of carrying and pleasing her to sleep so she could rest instead of crying, though DH also helped me. The feeling of hearing her cried is indescribable feeling. Now I can relate to the good mothers why they feel this way when their child is sick.

Anyway, I hope you are feeling well now, whether you're a mommy, mom-to-be or just simply a cool person. How's everything? Do you feel the same way too ever if you're not a mom? Are you getting overwhelm if you can hear an infant/child's cry?

postheadericon Enjoying Being with Sam

For all who knows being with my Sam is unexplainable. The days goes so fast and she is now getting bigger and bigger everyday. She is my adorable one! I am very thankful that GOD is great and HE provides everything for my dearest little one. As for the moment I try to make sure that every single minute is memorable. I love playing with her. As a mother, I can now relate how beautiful the world could be having a kid. At my age, I am not young anymore. So blessed that in the right time and plan Sam came to us and made our journey as a couple more meaningful and keeping the bonding for each other everyday. She is the apple of our eyes. I love having a family. Two plus one equals three, which makes a family! ;-)

Have a great day everyone!

postheadericon Travel channel

(Contribution by Kennith Griffin)

Ever since we went to satellitetvlaredotx.com and got satellite TV, we have been watching all these scientific shows. It is pretty cool because I don't feel like watching TV is so bad. All of the shows we end up watching are educational and so interesting. We end up learning a lot! One of our favorites is 'How It's Made'. You would be amazed at how many steps go into making something. We were watching how to make a pocket knife the other night and couldn't believe how many steps there were to a little pocket knife. We also love the travel channel. It is fun to watch a show about a city and then visit it later in the year. We will plan a whole vacation off of an episode that we saw on the travel channel. We are not the most adventurous people. We like to see what exactly we will be doing before we go somewhere. I think our next destination will be to California. I have never been and I really want to go to San Fransisco.

postheadericon Holding As Just Like Pinching!

I gotta find that picture of baby Sam that holding stuffs as just like pinching. It is just so cute to see her holding or grabbing her shirts, toys and such. You would want to see more and more (well, like me *heh!) of her doing it. I cannot just have enough of looking at it. Of looking her doing that thing. I just wanna share because I feel and laugh every time she does it. Sometimes she would just look at me wondering why I laugh and just then smile with me. Ha!

Being with my baby love Sam is just priceless. I am always thankful of this time. This time that I am with her not the other way around, thinking that I am working and let her does things with other people. I am just thankful. She surprises me everyday. Good surprises, that is.

Can you share some surprises too? From you, or from your love one/s? I hope you are having a great time despite of the trials in life. Trials/sadness is a twin of happiness but we have to make the former is leading most of time. :-) Spread the positive vibe! Give good surprise!

postheadericon Cheap Stress Reliever

Some people drink tea or coffee to help them relax, other visit their favorite spa to get some much needed pampering for their feet or their entire body. Some others watch movies to de-stress and some others go out with their friends to dine or bar hop and drink the night away. Some moms will probably go to the supermarket for some me-time while others go out of town with the rest of the family for some much needed rest and relaxation. Or blogging, or surfing in the Internet, perhaps? Or playing Farmville or Cityville? Whatever ways you like to de-stress is a matter of choice and personal preference, what matters most is you always find time in your busy schedule to unwind and relax every once in a while.

postheadericon A Few Days Before Halloween

A few more days and we will be celebrating Halloween, have you got scary costumes ready for your little ones? Are you one of those moms who keep your hands busy decorating orange cupcakes with monsters and other scary creatures, so you will have something creative and unique for Trick or Treats? Or, do you go out to marvel at huge pumpkin patches and watch the festive smashing of this orange veggie in season? Whatever you plan to celebrate the occasion, what matters most is you make lasting memories of you and your little tot which you can look back a few years from now. So, just enjoy and don’t forget to take all those fun and beautiful photographs, right? Go and again, enjoy it!

postheadericon Fabulous, Stylish Plus Size Formal Dress

Well, I guess every mommy/mommy-to-be likes to wear fabulous formal dresses, don't you think? For me, slim or plus size women does. For some other nation (well, mostly, if not most), thin ones are an "in" thing but not here in USA. Everybody is entitled for fashion. Plus size women fit-in with fabulous plus size formal dresses and any kind of clothing and accessories. Plus size women can play with their measurements and still looks fab and amazing just like the thin ones. I love seeing plus-size women with curves! Well, such curves can be seen depending on the style of clothing/outfit women wear. So playing with their measurement is definitely great! Thanks goodness there are many plus size clothing available everywhere or even at the tip of one's mouse.

This mommy-to-be is fond of dresses. I like dresses, shoes and purses but when I have to choose only one, the very first is like most. I guess I have this fondness because when I was young, I was not fortunate enough to have fabulous dresses even with special occasions like birthday, Christmas and other occasions alike which you think a dress is just a typical new on those times. Poor me but I accept. I did not regret because that was my fate but now that I can afford to buy some, I indulge with it even sometimes. :-) Why not! :-) What about you, do you love dresses too?
