postheadericon "Not" Feeling Well

This is the first time that my baby love's not feeling well after her shot from vaccination or immunization journey. Well, not actually after, it's after three and a half hours (3 1/2 hrs), as she woke up. After we went home, as usual I gave her tylenol liquid, her medicine, as per advise so she won't we going to have a fever. And true enough that worked (yes past tense since right now she has a fever) for several times but now the opposite. It's my own instinct that I gave her a bathe before going to doctor for a vaccination and that does a lot. This time, she was still energetic and does her thing (like playing her feet, standing) but after she woke up, I noticed she has it(fever). So I gave her another tylenol liquid before I gave her the milk, and that was half an hour after her first total of four (4) hours from the time I gave her first.

Due to her unpleasant feeling, she likes to be carried and that's what I did. I carried her in my arms. The moment she felt asleep, that's the time I laid her down. Right now, she's being carried by DH whilst I cook rice for dinner. I'll be going to give another tylenol liquid half an hour from now. After this, will also give her milk. So I gotta go now and prepare it. See yah later!

postheadericon 4th Month Immunization Appointment

My baby love, Sam, had her 4th month immunization. She had it on her legs, one on each. She cried loud. Good thing it was not a long crying time. Yep, she has a big voice now. I remember she was on her cardiologist appointment on her 4th month, she was also crying, not only because of a needle of vaccination but also because she felt cold in the room, undressed (that's the instruction). That was the first time I heard of her big voice and the first time she cried out loud. She never been like that. But that time, she did. Ooh well, instead I should pity her (but of course I pamper her), I just cannot help, but also smile a bit because of that first loud cry.

And so her 4th month immunization went fine. She got two shots both her legs. She should have more but the doctor decided to give the other next month to be gentle on her immune system since she been through a lot already. As usual, I gave her an infant pain reliever as we reached home to combat fever. And true enough she is doing fine now. Meaning, no pain or fever present. Thanks goodness.

postheadericon 37th Week Prenatal Was Successful

And the best thing is, am all fine. Though as my doctor/OB-GYN told me that she's going to check my cervix and baby's weight on this prenatal day which did not happened, but it's fine, that is just minor. The important is my baby is all fine, safe and sound. Her heartbeat was 150 which is great. Along with the visit and that checking, I also asked about my dropping tummy, which I feel it goes down to which that is the normal process and that is what she wants to see. :-) About the Kegel exercise too, I was able to ask and she said, it does not matter to this time yet. She will going to ask me one week before my delivery date. And the third one (I rarely ask question because I have pamphlets and important books from her and from hospital which tells all about it) I asked was about I rarely feel her moving but maybe because I was asleep. And my doctor told me that I won't going to sleep if I cannot feel her moving in three times a day for at least ten times each. If my baby is sleeping, I have to wake her up by eating sweets or cold drinks to make sure or else I have to go to hospital and let her check (by heartbeat, doctor said) what's going on. So, that relieves me.

One thing I did not like lately (just minor) was the waiting of getting my another week of doctor's visit/ prenatal. It was quite a long wait of waiting, really! --- which in fact, it only takes a minute to get it done for me. The other preggo which came before me to talk to the front desk had a problem that's why I waited so long. It sucks but then, I just let it by (or maybe I was not used with it). :-)

postheadericon 37 Weeks Today

Yep, the baby-in-my-tummy is already in full term. I am now 37 weeks pregnant, just today. Meaning, three (3) weeks to go and it's already my delivery date, in the midst of September.

Last Monday, I had my first weekly check-up by my OB-GYN. You read it right, I now have an appointment every week until I will be on labor. So far, the result is great. My doctor gave me a copy of my prenatal check-up results which she said I have to give to the nurse attending me when I will be on labor. All my results are fine so it is okay for me to party like a rockstar! Ha! There's no guarantee unless God said, yes. So, pray for me folks! Thanks in advance. :-)

The baby-in-my-tummy weighed 6.2 lbs. two days ago as I had my check-up. Her heartbeat is 150 which the doctor says all are fine. I don't any problem either. And that should be thankful for. Thanks  goodness.

postheadericon 35 Weeks Pregnant

And no other than yours truly. Yes, I am 35 weeks and three (3) days pregnant today. And am having a lot of contractions (tightening of my tummy which can be a sign of false or real labor) but a false labor. Okay, am not yet on labor but could anytime have it. It's just that if it would happen, my baby is in premature state. So not good. I should keep away from stress and other activities that would get me into early labor.

Ooh well, few more weeks and am good to go. To deliver a baby is somewhat I don't want to imagine, well, not to worry. I have to keep in mind to relax so it won't pressure me especially in time of delivery.

By the way, I had my OB-GYN/doctor's visit/ prenatal last two days ago and it went fine. My doctor check my birth canal and some infection if there is. I do not know yet the result but she said, if no phone call from her, that means no problem. I hope nothing. I am confident. Chaarrr... ha! ;-) My baby's heartbeat by the way is 160 which is perfectly fine. My weight is 139.5 which is fine too as doctor said. As well as my blood pressure, no problem. Thanks goodness! Other than that, nothing else. I just have to count baby's movement three times a day and ten times in one session/hour. Meaning, she should move at least 30 times a day in total in morning, afternoon and evening! Whew! I have some shortness of breath, palpitation, backache but that is normal especially on this stage. Good luck to me! Smile.

postheadericon 138 Lbs, Doctor's Visit/ Prenatal

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday. This mommy-to-be is not overweight anymore. Yey! Thanks goodness to my diet goal. :-) Am dieting but not under-eating, okay? If you were following my posts, I was once told by my OB-GYN/doctor a sort of overweight, well she just said "what happened to your weight? Your weight should be like this" . Alright, she did not tell me that because I was underweight or I have a normal weight, you bet! I like the way she handles her patients like me because I then watched what I ate (or eat, until now am still watching and behaving great) because I want to do the normal process of baby delivery or at least, I am following the normal way of pregnancy pattern.

Aside from my weight happiness, I was also examined the normal routine pregnancy journey of giving urine test and blood pressure monitor. And all are fine. The baby-in-my-tummy's heartbeat was normal as well, it is 150. My tummy's measurement at 34 weeks and 2 days old is 35 centimeters which also great. All-in-all are fine. Thanks God. I just have to suffer looking at the stretch marks and the legs cramp, palpitation and shortness of breath, those are normal during this period anyway.

I had no ultrasound again for that visit but that is fine as long as the baby-in-my-tummy is healthy, that is what matters to this mommy-to-be.

postheadericon OB-GYN / Doctor's Appointment for Later Afternoon

Am on my 34th weeks and 2nd day of my mommy-to-be journey. And another Obstetrics-Gynecologist/ Doctor's prenatal appointment later afternoon for my third trimester pregnancy. Another appointment, hoping for another ultrasound too. Last two appointments prior this time, nothing ultrasound unlike the other visits. Again, hopefully I can see my the baby-in-my-tummy tomorrow through it. I cannot wait. :-)

I currently experiencing tightening of my right slipper. You know that left food is bigger than right. Meaning this could be a sign of beri-beri which is normal for pregnancy. But I hope I won't experience it.

I said later afternoon by the way because it is already dawn time here in my end and of course it considers as already morning. This also means that I have to go to bed couple of minutes from now getting ready for later. And yep, it is fine if I have to wake-up late (hope DH would not demand of an early breakfast or else I am obliged to) because the appointment is 2:00 P.M. (the dental appointment was rescheduled to 26th of August and no biggie deal). After that, I have to go to store to buy a simple birthday gift for the daughter of my baby shower host for Sunday (too bad, I guess I cannot attend because it is not good for my situation, big tummy aside from the venue is a bit far, I just have to give something for the good friendship).

postheadericon Doctor's Appointment Was a Success

Though there is no ultrasound for the baby-in-my-tummy, still was a success. It was just a short visit. I do not know if she made it fast or it is really what it is, or what. I wanted to have an ultrasound every time I visit there but then it is fine (just comforting myself. Ha! :-p). As usual, the assistant checked my weight, blood pressure and urine. Afterwards, my ob-gyne just checked the length of my tummy and the baby-in-my-tummy heart beat. Then asked if I have questions or concerns. I just tell that I have leg cramps and shortness of breath which she said it is just fine and gave me some tip on how to overcome on it. She added that palpitation is also normal. This mommy-to-be's doctor/ob-gyne told that I have a normal weight (thankfully, not overweight anymore as being pregnant of 32 weeks and two days) which is 135 lbs. My blood pressure also is fine (of course according to her) which is 104/60. My tummy height as she measure is fine too, I forgot how tall my tummy is, the only thing I remember is it is doing great, not tall and not also dwarf. *wink* (kidding aside but seriously on the other hand) And that is it! She then told me to get an schedule for the next two weeks to see her, as prenatal. I waited a bit to get the appointment schedule (which isn't usual, the first time I waited just to get the schedule) but it is fine. And that is it! DH and I then went home. Oops, not yet, I went first to the store for grocery and DH got quarters too for laundry then waited outside until I was done. Great! :-)

postheadericon Doctor's Appointment Tomorrow

Am on my second day of my 32nd week pregnancy. Obviously, am already on my third trimester. You already know am already on the appointment of my ob-gyn every two weeks. And soon enough will go there every week. And so tomorrow afternoon will be my doctor's visit. An ultrasound and a baby-in-my-tummy heartbeat will be done. I hope this serves as a reminder of my doctor's journey tomorrow. Ha! Oops! I have to set the alarm in my phone anyway. I already learned my lesson last time that I forgot it. Ooh well. No forgetting anymore. This is important so this mommy-to-be have to bear it in mind, or would you remind me? *wink* Just kidding. I have to remind myself!

My tummy is getting heavier. I even have stretch marks on my lower right tummy. I did not realized the scratch I made. I had cocoa butter lotion and an itch cream but it did not occur to my mind the lower part could be the very much possible of stretch marks. Careless me, I know! Now, I keep on putting cocoa butter and itch cream on it every time I go to the rest room for body's request (okay, to urinate) hoping it would not be visible after I deliver my baby. Hopefully!

And so am ready for a doctor's appointment for tomorrow. Have to sign-off now. Have a great night (or should I say mor-night as in morning-night/dawn)! ~hugs&kisses~

postheadericon Fun Lab Coats and Scrubs

A recent trip to the clinic a few blocks down the road was such a welcome experience, much thanks to the parade of nurses and aids clad in those mens lab coats. It is about time they make such fashion sense and create fashion statements out of the normally-boring-down-pat and usually ignore-them-when-i-see-them medical scrubs and lab coats. If you ask me, these daily-work staple clothing makes these people less intimidating, if not friendlier. Suddenly a mom-to-be/mommy's journey (and alike) to ob-gyn or any doctor's clinic is no longer something you would always dread or something that will bore you to your wit’s ends. It could be at times, though, well who really goes to the doctor to be entertained, right? It is 100% business when you do, unless you have a doctor for a best friend!

Now, at least, you will have those interesting outfits such as scrubs for men which we can find at: http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Men/ to look at and keep you occupied while waiting for you lab result or waiting in line for your turn. As for myself, it don't look good for me wearing scrubs, well, maybe just the style of it. Looks like a, what they said "gay-look " . Oops! But not anymore. And if in case your own clinic has yet to discover these fashionable, patient-friendly medical outfits, would you be such a doll and leave them a note telling something you just discovered. :-)

postheadericon 30th Week of Pregnancy

On the 6th of July, marked my 30th week of pregnancy. Had my doctor/ob-gyn/prenatal appointment the 8th of July, exactly the second day of my 30th week. I had this every two weeks of seeing my doctor/prenatal beginning the other two weeks, so this is my second prenatal that went every other two weeks. And this will be like this until about my due date. Then soon enough I have to see my doctor/ob-gyn every other week. The prenatal was successful. I had an ultrasound (but don't have a copy of pics but then it's fine) and some other chitchat. The ultrasound gave us the smiles, her hands already showing big. She's already four pounds and two ounce (4 lbs & 2 oz) in weight. It's just funny that I ask how tall she is because any doctor can't measure because a baby(ies) can't be straightened. She/he/they always on the nodding position. :-) Now I know, height can't be measured when the baby is still on the tummy. I just hope, she won't be "he" when comes out. ;-) Or else the pinks couldn't be used. And that's it, nothing else other than the doctor prescribed me to start taking iron supplement to take everyday with the stool softener medication to take everyday both in addition to my calcium supplement (twice a day) and the prenate elite vitamin (once a day). So all in all, I now take five (5) medicines a day until after breastfeeding. Wow! That's a lot, isn't it? But then the doctor prescribed me for this because it is good for me, better than its other side. Happy pregnancy for me. *wink*

I sure love clothes. If you're looking for maternity clothes to feel comfortable, but yet still stylish during your pregnancy then check out the wide collection at http://www.very.co.uk/. Check out the website to find out more information.

postheadericon Overweight

This mommy-to-be had an ob-gyn appointment lately, a prenatal that is. The supposed-to-be scheduled six days ago was done today. No ultrasound and it's fine. It's just this meeting with my doctor that I wasn't able to view my baby but it's fine since I'll be going to go back for two weeks from now. Am just excited. :-) Lately, I had my sugar test, a two-hours aside from a doctor's visit. I did my fasting. After dinner last night, no food and drinks other than water. Had three injections for that sugar test (blood test procedure) at the same time drinking that bottled of orange thing. The first injection by the way was the on-set, the time the laboratory person saw me, first injection, waver and the drinking of a bottled orange thing. This time, no drinking of water including to no foods and drinks. I then moved to the doctor's office/clinic. Then one-hour after, another injection. Then went back to the doctor's clinic. After done went back to the laboratory room waiting for that other hour. Other hour came that makes it two hours of no eating and drinking. Time was up and time to have another injection. Blood drawn and that was it. I will be called upon through phone when there's something negative or am diabetic. If not, it's fine and will be told on the next appointment. I hope nothing major problem. :)

I am now 134 pounds in my 28th week (2nd day). The doctor said what happened with my weight. Ha! If you remember, I lost nine(9) pounds on my 2nd-4th months but now am overweight of six(6) pounds. Oops! Not that so bad but still I should have to have only 128 pounds. And now I have to less eating carbs like rice, bread and stuffs like that. Sweets too. I can make it, I know. Good luck to me. I don't want my baby to be big when she's still in the tummy so I have to watch-out my carbohydrates and eating thingy. :-) I don't want to have a caesarian.

postheadericon Sample of 2nd Step of NT Result

Below are the results (paper result and the ultrasounds) of my second step of Antenatal Screening NOS (or NT Test as they called). Sorry for the black stuffs, did it to protect some privacy. If you want with my info on it, just let me know (though it is not important on this topic). You can also enlarge images through clicking on it, and then hit zoom-in or zoom+. This is just to show a sample if anyone is interested what is it like.

Last Friday (as shown on result or image above) is my 12 weeks and 3 days pregnancy as counting of 10 months all in all. The first day is my first day of my last menstruation. That is done since it cannot be determined what date really is the first day of my baby-in-my-tummy got develop into pregnancy (as being told by doctor). And you can see the result of the test on the very lower side of the paper above. There's also some info of my precious baby. :-)

Ultrasound above shows the original black and white 2D I got along with the other ones (six ultrasound pics all)
. The first one or the left side supposed to be on the right side pic as that is the repeat ultrasound (the second one or an image on the right is the first ultrasound). There was a repeat session because my baby-in-my-tummy won't woke up even how the specialist woke his/her up. So that was why I had to do a 15-minutes walk and drink a lot of water to wake the baby up. And so I did. The first pic (on the left side above) is the woke-up baby-in-my-tummy whilst the pic on the right was while he/she asleep and won't woke up. :-) And an image below is just the same as an image above, only I hit the colored button of my scanner. That is why it is colored. :-) You can (of course) enlarge images by clicking it.

Have a great day!

postheadericon Had My Second Step for NT Exam

NT is the term for Antenatal Test to which it is to identify if the baby has down syndrome. I was on my second step last Friday. And it went very well. I got an ultrasound. At first my baby is sleeping and whatever the specialist did to wake him/her up, still asleep. So I was advised to go walking for 15 minutes and drink water a lot without going to the bathroom. And I got it, went well too. It was even timing as I went up as I was being called a minute after. And there it went, the baby on my tummy already woke up. And the specialist did already what she had to do. I got more than six pictures of an ultrasound, comprises of my baby's different position (while asleep and woke-up). DH and I cannot help but to smile looking at the pics. Okay, he already saw it on the ultrasound but not me as the ultrasound monitor was located below my visible place but DH saw. It just only took minutes and I was done. Hubby asked if we could already know what gender but the specialist said not yet since he/she is still small and we will know it on the second come back which is on my 15th or 20th month for the 3rd and 4th step. I will show you next post (sorry got lazy to scan it now, :( the paper stating the findings which is very far from reality that my baby will have down syndrome and I could never be happier. Thanks God for everything. Though there's still more steps to finish but I can feel from the findings that it's far from positive. That is why, am very thankful to the ABOVE. Thanks Lord. :-) Happy me and hubby!

postheadericon Had my One-Hour Sugar Test Lately

Pregnant women need a sugar test to know if they are diabetic. Mostly actually are. And that is what I had lately, a one-hour sugar test. Meaning, I had to drink a one-bottle orange drink from the laboratory and leave it on my body for one-hour without any food or even water (unlike the fasting that I can drink water). And then after one-hour or sharp, a person in-charge of taking blood, took mine. And had to submit urine sample too, after the blood or either way, before or after the blood test took. And that was it. I hope am not diabetic but I sense am not since I don't like so sweet foods even if am on pregnancy but who knows. I can only hope. But anyway, if found out I am diabetic, I have to be tested not for a one-hour retest but 3-hours to be sure it is accurate, or a standard procedure of how to's. That blood test also was taken for my retest if I have liver problem. This also serves as step-one for a prenatal test if my baby has Down Syndrome (DS), huhu.. hope not. :( And that was it. I was done for this appointment. Doctor's staff will call sometime this week or next week for an the step-two of such prenatal test. An NT test. Please pray for me and my baby. Thanks a lot! Your prayer is greatly appreciated. ~hugs&kisses~

postheadericon My First Ultrasound

As concerning pregnancy, below is my first ultrasound (you can enlarge image by clicking it, then zoom in/zoom+). I was there with my husband and he was called during few explanations of the doctor about pregnancy and ultrasound then gave me a prescription about my next prenatal vitamins and Iron pills to take 2x a day which starts today. Next was ultrasound. It is a great feeling seeing the baby on my womb or, uterus specifically. My husband and I were all in smiles, we cannot help but smiled. :-) My ob-gyne then was able to measure the baby-in-my-tummy but during the next or other ultrasound it can't be measured anymore due to his/her moving, it is normal anyway.
And my ultrasound told I am ten (10) weeks and three (3) days pregnant as of today, February 18, 2011. Whew! I did not expect that, I though I am just 4-7 weeks but then, ultrasound tells. :-) Meaning I was pregnant during my first day of menstrual cycle at December (my last month of menstruation) as it was calculated. What a result. :-) My  baby by the way measures 3.11 cm (centimeters) as of today (whilst yesterday he/she was 3.06 cm as seen in the image ultrasound). Am looking forward on my next visit which was scheduled on Friday, February 25th at 1:15 p.m. for one-hour sugar test and blood test. Sugar test to see if am diabetic and blood test if my liver has some problem (retest as per standard by my current doctor/ob-gyne handling) and to test if my baby has a neck problem or something like that. February 25th will be my 15-16 weeks of pregnancy which is necessary to have such blood test. So one blood test for two purposes. And if found out on my one-hour sugar test that I am diabetic, I have to do again a 3-hours sugar test  to be sure, then the result will be final as per standard. I have to do fasting after breakfast for my 1:15 p.m. tests, meaning after breakfast, I wont eat no more, just water.

So that's it, my first ultrasound, the highlight for this day ob-gyne visit. :-)
