This mommy-to-be had an ob-gyn appointment lately, a prenatal that is. The supposed-to-be scheduled six days ago was done today. No ultrasound and it's fine. It's just this meeting with my doctor that I wasn't able to view my baby but it's fine since I'll be going to go back for two weeks from now. Am just excited. :-) Lately, I had my sugar test, a two-hours aside from a doctor's visit. I did my fasting. After dinner last night, no food and drinks other than water. Had three injections for that sugar test (blood test procedure) at the same time drinking that bottled of orange thing. The first injection by the way was the on-set, the time the laboratory person saw me, first injection, waver and the drinking of a bottled orange thing. This time, no drinking of water including to no foods and drinks. I then moved to the doctor's office/clinic. Then one-hour after, another injection. Then went back to the doctor's clinic. After done went back to the laboratory room waiting for that other hour. Other hour came that makes it two hours of no eating and drinking. Time was up and time to have another injection. Blood drawn and that was it. I will be called upon through phone when there's something negative or am diabetic. If not, it's fine and will be told on the next appointment. I hope nothing major problem. :)
I am now 134 pounds in my 28th week (2nd day). The doctor said what happened with my weight. Ha! If you remember, I lost nine(9) pounds on my 2nd-4th months but now am overweight of six(6) pounds. Oops! Not that so bad but still I should have to have only 128 pounds. And now I have to less eating carbs like rice, bread and stuffs like that. Sweets too. I can make it, I know. Good luck to me. I don't want my baby to be big when she's still in the tummy so I have to watch-out my carbohydrates and eating thingy. :-) I don't want to have a caesarian.
Pregnant women need a sugar test to know if they are diabetic. Mostly actually are. And that is what I had lately, a one-hour sugar test. Meaning, I had to drink a one-bottle orange drink from the laboratory and leave it on my body for one-hour without any food or even water (unlike the fasting that I can drink water). And then after one-hour or sharp, a person in-charge of taking blood, took mine. And had to submit urine sample too, after the blood or either way, before or after the blood test took. And that was it. I hope am not diabetic but I sense am not since I don't like so sweet foods even if am on pregnancy but who knows. I can only hope. But anyway, if found out I am diabetic, I have to be tested not for a one-hour retest but 3-hours to be sure it is accurate, or a standard procedure of how to's. That blood test also was taken for my retest if I have liver problem. This also serves as step-one for a prenatal test if my baby has Down Syndrome (DS), huhu.. hope not. :( And that was it. I was done for this appointment. Doctor's staff will call sometime this week or next week for an the step-two of such prenatal test. An NT test. Please pray for me and my baby. Thanks a lot! Your prayer is greatly appreciated. ~hugs&kisses~
Right on the day my doctor told me am pregnant (through blood test), the doctor's office then followed sending me a letter to which it is what you can see below (sorry for the blacks, as I deleted some information which contains privacy). It is composed of the result and a referral to see an ob-gyn pertaining upon my situation. Ob-gyn by the way is the right specific doctor when it comes to pregnancy. (You can enlarge image below through clicking it then zoom-in/zoom+)
And so that was what it went. I then scheduled an appointment after my blood test for liver test last January 8th and was scheduled at my husband's convenient day which is Friday. And so hubby and I went there (at the same building where I had my blood test, just right beside such laboratory) just today. I had my appointment at 9 a.m. and finished by 11 a.m. Had lots of pamphlets and books about baby, foods to eat and what-not, all about what to do during pregnancy. My ob-gyne (she's a girl) also discussed about it and told me to write anything which confuses me and tell her my next visit. :-) And so that was it, above was my medical doctor's referral to an ob-gyn which now my ob-gyne. :-)
I do not like to reveal my age but it is great unto my ears listening the rhyming words, am a "mommy-to-be @ 30" ! Whew! What a great news and what a phrase! :-)
Me and my hubby decided to enjoy our marriage as two, that was why when he got as fiancee and came here after a day we went to get a birth control pills. Yes, we were not married yet that time but it was possible. And so right after the next day of stepping unto the Land of Opportunity (USA), I already have my birth control pills. And no regrets. Until November of 2010, we decided for me not to take the birth control pills anymore. And so it did. And that time too was my vacation to my birth country (Philippines), so it was less hassle for me thinking of maintaining to take the bc pills as I took it diligently.
Then January 25th, I was ill. As in chills, headache, eyes, ear problem, body aches, fever and cold so I was in bed for such period. More story
here, about my sick days before I knew I was pregnant. Then on 6th day I was scheduled to see my doctor as the other days was weekends and other weekdays were my observation days, so definitely I was checked Monday, the 6th day of my sickness. The doctor's visit resulted to prescriptions of tylenol for my medical problem or the chills and prenatal vitamins when found out am pregnant (after the blood test) and the highlight of need to have a pregnancy test through blood test. Since the clinic no longer attend blood test, I was sent to two blocks away from the place for my laboratory or blood test. And so I went. Without knowing that I need to have a fasting (no eating after dinner, just water until 9 am {my schedule} or when am tested for blood test), so I had to go back the next day. February 1st, I had my blood test for pregnancy. The result could get after 24 hours my doctor Jillian Payne told. I called the next day but the front desk told there's no result yet, a bit disappointed as I was excited to know, if yes or not. Then came the next day, I called again, front desk/customer service of my doctor's office told it's still not yet. :( Then afternoon came, my doctor called me and told me, I AM PREGNANT! All smiles, grinning from left to right though I was only the person at home. :-) Hubby also delighted after I told him on the phone after my doctor's conversation. Happy us! :-)
