Things To Do During a Cookie and Coffee Break
So it gets to 11.00am, or 3pm, and it's time for a break. Work's been tough, you've got fifteen minutes or half an hour free, but how to spend that time? Productively, unproductively? Here are some ideas:
First - it's essential that you get the food right. Noone wants to get to the end of a break and realise it's been wasted on bad food and a boring time. You could go to your local coffee shop, which has the downsides of a queue and social interaction, or you could make do with the coffee, milk and sugar in the staff room. It won't taste great but it'll be free.
Now if you haven't gone and bought some food, you'd be hard pushed to find anything worthwhile in a staff room biscuit tin, and if it's not Shelagh-in-accounting's leaving do, then you're stuck. Why not treat yourself and get your hands on a davids cookies discount code ?At this point you're going to need to go back in time to pick something up at home to take with you - or alternatively, if time travel isn't an option, just do this the next day.
Now your snacks are sorted out, what to do with your small amount of free time? One good idea, healthy for both the mind and the body, is to do some exercise. Go outside, go for a walk, and shake off the monotony of office life. You can easily tie in that diet you’ve always wanted to work on with your walk, check out these Weight Watchers coupons here . The fresh air and activity will stand you in great stead to sit in a swivel chair and pencil-push for four hours.
If you get on with your co-workers, then sitting around your desks or the staff room can be a great way to chill out and bond, and one of the positives is that if you need to, you can work through the break, whilst still chatting. Obviously, you might work in an office with people you loathe. In which case, avoid this paragraph.
For a more relaxed break away from colleagues, spend some time on Facebook - catch up on everyone else's holidays whilst you're stuck in Slough. Do some internet shopping - buy some old Cher vinyls just because it passes the time. And finally, for a truly great way to waste many minutes, go on Twitter. Warning: overuse of Twitter may result in losing your job.
A great way to spend a short break (one of the benefits being that you can eat at the same time) is to phone a friend for a catch-up. Phone that aunt that you need to speak to, or your friend who moved to Glasgow. Not only will this keep you entertained, but it's a good way to get off the computer for a few minutes.
What with the proliferation of ITV Player, iPlayer and the equivalent for most TV channels, a good way to get away from it all is to plug in some headphones and watch a show. Good programmes for the coffee break (it has to be using these tassimo codes here of course!)are the soaps, comedies or any old clips on Youtube. Just keep your programme suitable for when the boss walks past.
So grab yourself a cup and a cookie, pick something to relax you and enjoy your break. Before you know it, you'll be back to the grind again...
