Mommy(ies), our fridge-freezer is past its best and may not be cooling as well as it should. Suddenly you're faced with a dilemma – what sort of fridge freezer model should you go for? Here's some information to take the research out of the equation. There are three kinds of fridge-freezers that can work their cooling and freezing magic in different ways.  
 Main types of fridge-freezer

Free-standing fridge-freezers such as the Beko fridge freezer are generally the cheapest and most common refrigerator model. They easily able to be fitted into most kitchens and come in a range of different colours and sizes.

Integrated fridge-freezers sit behind cupboard doors and blend in well with the surrounding décor of the kitchen. They're generally priced higher than free-standing fridge-freezers because of the customization involved.

Side-by-side fridge-freezers are also known as American-style models. They are quite large and often come with a range of high-tech features like a chilled water or ice dispenser and even in some cases a TV.  

So what suits your lifestyle?

The key to selecting the best fridge-freezer is by looking at your lifestyle and the number of mouths to be fed in your home. Families with tremendously busy lives, who often pull out frozen dinners from the deep freeze, will rally around a giant side-by-side model as though it were an old friend!

Alternately, a bunch of people living in a small flat in the city, will be conscious of the lack of space. The American-style fridge-freezer will dominate the kitchen like an elephant in the room. If you do have spatial concerns, a compact free-standing model is probably the way to go.

Some free-standing models can offer a surprising amount of storage space tucked neatly into a compact size. Free-standing models are generally cheaper to buy and run on less power than the bigger, American-style fridge-freezers so for those on a smaller, budget, this kind of product may be best.

postheadericon Dad’s Role


Fathers today are taking a hands-on, active role in parenting. It is important to remember that a strong foundation for a family is the partnership between the mother and the father. And this relationship needs careful maintenance now. I am just so lucky that my husband is very supportive (and I also know how to balance everything, though), and he understands that I am a first time mom, and that we are still adjusting to my responsibility with our daughter.

I guess all parents go through major changes once a newborn baby arrives, except for well-off families. This period includes the joy of getting to know your child, as well as the demands of feedings and night walking. It leaves less time and energy for your relationship with your partner. The mother’s focus is on the baby, especially if she is breastfeeding. It’s normal to have mixed emotions about the new responsibilities as a father. As the father adjust and gain confidence, nothing will come close to the joy and love he begin to feel for the newest member of his team.

I have been a mother for some years now and I wish that the passion I exert in my motherhood tasks is the same as my goal to maintain my pre-pregnancy size. But it is not happening to me. I have many friends who have no problem in this area, but me there is! And I am not proud of it, yet I am writing about it.

I wish for the day when I can stop thinking all the problems and trials my way so that I would be inspired to hit the road in the morning and evening, to sweat off the saved fats in my body.

One thing that got me curious is yoga. I found this interesting paragraph in Wiki: Long-term yoga practitioners in the United States have reported musculoskeletal and mental health improvements, as well as reduced symptoms of asthma in asthmatics. Regular yoga practice increases brain GABA levels and has been shown to improve mood and anxiety more than some other metabolically matched exercises, such as walking. The three main focuses of Hatha yoga (exercise, breathing, and meditation) make it beneficial to those suffering from heart disease. Overall, studies of the effects of yoga on heart disease suggest that yoga may reduce high blood pressure, improve symptoms of heart failure, enhance cardiac rehabilitation, and lower cardiovascular risk factors. For chronic low back pain, specialist Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs has been found 30% more beneficial than usual care alone in a UK clinical trial. Other smaller studies support this finding. The Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs programme is the dominant treatment for society (both cheaper and more effective than usual care alone) due to 8.5 fewer days off work each year. A research group from Boston University School of Medicine also tested yoga’s effects on lower back pain. Over twelve weeks, one group of volunteers practiced yoga while the control group continued with standard treatment for back pain. The reported pain for yoga participants decreased by one third, while the standard treatment group had only a five percent drop. Yoga participants also had a drop of 80% in pain medication use. 
This sounds promising. Maybe when I have time and a buddy, I will try to explore this kind of exercise.
