Every mom has their own experience on the first birthday of their child. Some have good memories, and unfortunately; some have not. But most moms as much as they could, wanted to have a memorable birthday celebration on the first birthday of their child most especially if it is their first one. Usually, it is the mother who has lots of ideas on making the 1st birthday party as the most joyful birthday celebration of their child.
Typically, if it is a child’s birthday, we usually have a theme. Time will come that your kids will no longer wear diapers and need to learn how to use the toilet or the potty every time he or she wants to pee or poo. Toilet training is one of the most important skills that a parent should teach their children.
It isn’t just about hygiene but according to Erik Erikson’s Psychosocial Development, toilet training is one of the ways to learn autonomy, control and knowing what is right and wrong. Through toilet training, a child learns to hold pee and poo until he or she reaches the potty or the toilet because it is the right thing to do.
Toilet training can be taught through role modeling with the help of the parents. If the child sees his or her parents using the toilet every time they pee or poo, most likely they will do the same. Do not also forget to reward your children every time they do it properly.

As early as possible, children should learn how to save especially when it comes to money. Parents can teach them by buying their first piggy bank and encouraging them to place some coins in there every time they got one. Training them to save for whatever they want to want buy will develop their budgeting skills and would eventually learn getting something would always require effort and hard work.
This method of discipline wouldn’t be only applicable to saving money but to everything that they own. It is not about hoarding but keeping in mind that these things aren’t worthy to be placed on the trash because someday it will serve an important purpose.
Now, I can't wait to teach my 16 months old Sam. But I have to wait the time that she can comprehend what I am going to teach her. :)
